Rated 5 out of 5 by Bright but remarkably wearable I didn't expect to love this jacket, honestly. It's very red- a decidedly tomato orange-red rather than a cherry sort of red. The florals have some cherry, as well as some the ivory and gold sorts of tones that make this especially wearable. I have worn it over navy and white polka-dots, bright blue, yellow, and even a very simple chambray and dark denim look, akin to that of the model. I've been trying to think of it more as a neutral, something that really can go with dots or stripes (but not more florals), and so far that's worked very well. And, even better, for each ensemble, it's been really easy to throw on and feel like I'm wearing something special, without really trying. I also travel a lot for work, and this jacket will be perfect for that, as it will make any simple ensemble just one step better. It's also cuter over dresses than I had expected, as it is cut at a very nice mid-thigh level that allows some skirt to show. Another great thing is that it does genuinely look good either belted or without the belt. I have worn it open, but tied the belt in back, to give it a waste, or just without the belt altogether, and it's really very flattering. It's actually less boxy than it appears on the model when un-belted. Finally, I would say one thing: it runs a bit large. I got it in the smaller of the two sizes I usually purchase at Anthro, and I rarely choose the smaller in a jacket, since I want room for layering. Even in a 4 rather than six, I have plenty of room, especially in the shoulders, but the tailoring is done well enough that it doesn't appear at all too large. Part of what makes this jacket so wonderful are the details, from the asymmetrical floral panels on the front to the bottoms down the vent in the back. The cuffs are even well designed, plus the material is soft but thick enough to be wearable in early April in Massachusetts. It's also something that makes a bit of a statement. Every time I've worn it, I've gotten a comment or two and a lot of smiles. It's just that kind of happy, colorful item that welcomes any hint of spring. If you're looking for a coat that is far from neutral, but still very wearable and very, very fun, this is the number. April 2, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful! Fell in love with this online & am equally happy with it in person. It is heavier than I anticipated which is nice because it provides warmth too. I also love that it drapes nicely even when not belted. Only "con" is that is is described as RED, but its definitely Orange. This will be my go to coat all spring and summer long. A beauty! Rated 3 out of 5 by Very Loud This looks so beautiful online, in person however not so much. It is so loud. Very bright red orange and gaudy flowers. It's quite heavy and feels almost like denim. It also ran large. Did not like at all. Definitely check this out in person before you order online. March 25, 2013
