I went to Anthro specifically to purchase this butter dish. They weren't on display, so a sales associate went in back to get me one. Once she brought it out, and it was in my hands, it felt really cheap. The glass felt a bit rough around the edges, not a great finished product. The design is cute, though. The dish she brought me had some scratches and imperfections (bubbling in the glass) so I asked her to bring me another one. The next one she brought me had a manufacturing defect-- the top sat very crooked on the bottom dish. Needless to say, I left Anthro without purchasing this item. Too bad-- I would have been happy to pay a little more, for a bit more quality.

i've been looking for a vintage (or vintage-looking) butter dish, and i love all things french, so this is perfect... and a good price to boot. the glass seems thick enough to be sturdy. it's also big enough for half a roll of my favorite fancy butter, which is wider and taller than a regular stick. my butter loves it and so do i.

This would have been a great butter dish, but Anthro made no attempt at packaging the product properly. I ordered a couple of tops as well as this dish and everything was in a huge box with no additional paper or 'air bags' so, of course, the dish broke :( If you don't know hot to properly package fragile items, maybe they shouldn't be sold online!!!
