Ai Weiwei: New York 1983-1993
Ai Weiwei, China's most famous contemporary artist, spent the years from 1983 to 1993 in New York City. This moving book showcases over 200 black-and-white photographs he took during this period, documenting an artistically and politically exciting time as seen through the eyes of an artist from China. Also included are essays written by John Tancock and Stephanie Tung, the curator of the Three Shadows Art Center in Beijing, as well as a conversation between the author and Stephanie Tung.
