Rated 4 out of 5 by Great color but faulty tube. Tried the "peony" color in my local anthro. Loved it immediately -- it's very close to my natural lip color so the effect was very understated. Having been a person that always wears various shades of red, a "daytime" lipstick was a new concept for me. This lipstick just makes my lips look a bit brighter and adds color to my face. When I got home, however, the tube wouldn't open. When I pulled the top off, I was left holding a bottom metallic piece and no access to the lipstick itself. Clearly the glue wasn't strong enough and came apart. I took it back to exchange, and when I grabbed another one at random, there was something wrong structurally with that one too (lucky I had tried it in the store before walking out). Finally, the third one seemed to be fine and I ended up taking it home. Maybe I just had terrible luck, but I'd suggest trying the lipsticks in the store to make sure the tube you're purchasing functions properly. Otherwise, very pretty design and great color! Rated 4 out of 5 by Beautiful but dry I was so excited to see Anthro come out with a great red lipstick. I have fair skin and dark hair and prefer a classic look so I bought the Vermillion color. The color is vibrant and gorgeous and it looks darker than it is in the picture shown. The packaging is lovely and inspired by 1920's lipstick packaging however it's plastic and I wish the material was a little more special. The lipstick itself it long wearing but really dried out on my lips. It stays on-it doesnt crack or flake off but it just gets so dry that your lips my shrivel up and crave some moisture. Rated 5 out of 5 by Marvelous Mauvette I tried Mauvette at my local Anthro and loved it immediately. The color was sheer, but one coat is appropriate for "daytime" wear, and you can easily build on the color with more coats. Has the consistency of a balm, goes on smooth with a little shine. Also, I love the 1920's inspired packaging! August 31, 2012
