I had been shopping for a dress to wear as a guest to 2 weddings this summer and was coming up empty handed. I happened to check Anthro's new arrivals just to see what had come in and not expecting to see something I would deem appropriate for a formal wedding. However, when I saw this dress I knew I had to have it. I was extremely excited for it to come in the mail and ordered a size 2 immediately. I normally wear 0 or a 2 in Anthro dresses. As this dress looked a little slim cut and I'm a little hippy, I opted for the 2 rather that the 0.
When It arrived I couldn't wait to to get it on. The first thing I noticed was that the slip as quite tight, just as previous reviewers had mentioned in the review of Yonana Baraschi's Luella Dress. Having read that review prior to purchasing this dress, I was not very surprised. I attempted to shop around for another slip, but had no luck finding an opaque one that was the right length. The size 2 fit, however, I felt that I was constantly having to tug it down, as it was riding up a bit after I moved around. I also found it very difficult to take off. As the material is quite delicate and has no give to it, it does not stretch when trying to take it on & off.
Not completely happy with the fit through the legs, I chose to order a size 4 to try it on for comparison. I was concerned that the 4 would be too baggy in the waist. I received the size 4 in the mail and tried both on, one after the other. The 4 was not much looser through the hips/butt/thighs, but enough so that I was not as self-conscious as I was while wearing the size 2. It wasn't too baggy through the midsection; however, I would have preferred a more fitted look through this area. I love the design of the dress, but the fit leaves a bit to be desired. Not so much that I am returning it, but for the price you really want to feel that you look like a million bucks in this dress, not just a hundred bucks. I ended up returning the size 2 and keeping the 4.
The only other comment I have is that while I understand it is part of the design/look/aesthetic the designer is going for, I don't love the unfinished "raw" edge. For those who cannot tell by the photos, the dress is silk with the lace pattern embroidered onto it. The silk itself has no finished hem on it, it's just a raw cut. Again, I understand that this is part of the design, however I am slightly concerned with it catching or fraying and would be so sad if that happened to such a lovely (and expensive) dress.

by NWCoastGal Lovely dress!
This dress fits perfectly and is stunning!! It fits true to size and is very modern vintage. It's like nothing I have seen before. The down side is it's not orange/red like the photo, it's neon, also the lace is cut so it could tear or shred easy.

I bought this dress to wear to an occassion that listed the dress code as "Fabulous" on the invite and this dress definetely fits the bill. I found the dress runs TTS---I purchaed a 4 and it fits puuurrfect--- unless you like your garments to skim your body than size down one size. The color just sizzles more of a neon orange/salmon color than red like is stated. I find it beautifully made and extremely tasteful. I purchased this dress online 2 days ago and had it shipped express so I could wear it this weekend and was not surprised to see that it is almost sold out---just a size 12 left---obviously other anthroholics loved this dress too! Let's hope they restock this dress---you will not be disappointed even at full-price!
