Rated 4 out of 5 by not necessarily flattering this is a well constructed dress of good quality. the pattern is eye catching and fun and the dress feels light and airy on. I just found that it made me look a little pregnant. I am not a curvy woman, so I didn't really fill it out in a flattering way. October 6, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing! This is an amazing dress! It's really pretty and a must have for me, even at this high price. I am very confused by the other reviewer's comments on sizing! I am 5'9'' 145, 34A, and typically take a 6 in anthro dresses (small/6/top-med/lrg/29-30/bottom). This dress runs very large! When I first grabbed it, I accidentally grabbed and tried on a UK 6 (aka a US size 2) and it fit quite well! If there was only the 2, I would have still considered it. However, the 4 just felt a little looser around my shoulders, which I preferred. But aside from a fitted top protion of the dress, the whole bottom is quite loose! I do not understand the reviewer who said that hip size determined the size she bought--seriously, this flounces out kind of A-Line belted or Trapeze without a belt, and does not touch my hips! Seriously, size down! Runs big! The dress is pretty shapeless and the reviewers are right that the belt is kind of a waste. Who cares? I'm just going to use a different leather belt to cinch it in. Rated 5 out of 5 by Love at first sight! My eyes caught sight of the vibrant colors and stunning print and it was love at first sight. It seems my love is requited as this dress is really flattering for my figure. As I'm totally dependent on online access for Anthro items I like to focus my reviews on fit and quality as it is pretty tricky ordering online (and postage to and from Australia means any mistakes are pretty expensive). I ordered an 8 online and was worried by the reviews that suggested sizing down. I am pretty much an 8 in most Anthro items (I have more 8s than any other size), certainly an 8 in dresses, a 6 in flowy tops. For reference I am 5'7, 34C, 140 pounds, 28/29 waist, slightly bigger on the bottom than the top but generally proportionate, I am fairly straight up and down (little waist definition) and think I can just qualify as "slenderish". The 8 in this dress fitted perfectly. I didn't find there was too much fabric. I suspect I could have managed a 6 but think it would have been a less comfortable fit. The length is perfect - just above my knee, making it work appropriate. I need a bit of length in skirts and dresses otherwise I look a bit boxy and chubby. I found the belt was sufficient to give enough definition but easy to change a belt. The quality is excellent, the lining is solid yet soft, and adorable to boot. Based on some of the reviews I was expecting a heavier silk but this is still a lightweight dress. I think I'll be wearing it in the height of the Australian summer (100 degrees plus). I was surprised at just how soft the lighter blues of the material are - just gorgeous. I usually want my pieces to be flexible and do work/social, 3 seasons etc, and this dress can do that but even if it couldn't I would have bought it anyway as I just love it. September 28, 2012
