Schoolroom Hook Rack

Rated 1 out of 5 by not sturdy I was in love with this the first time I saw it, as it matched the aesthetic of my apartment perfectly. I placed the order and when it arrived, two of the hooks were broken off and the rack itself was not securely in the box (as if someone else had returned it and then they shipped that right off to me). I sent it back and a new one came. It was on back order and was given a date of when it would ship. That day came and went without any notification! I called and they said it was on back order even longer and they apologized for not alerting me and said that I definitely would get notification this time. I did not, but it came early! And it was all in once piece. However, it does not come with any mounting hardware. Additionally, we tried to hang it on wall studs and the holes on the rack are spaced not evenly with standard wall studs, which would be fine, except that we have big, heavy northeastern coats to hang on it! And one of the hooks broke again in testing out a coat! So, it looks very pretty, but it is not very sturdy and you have to go out and find screws and things and it will be hard to mount it on wall studs, but if you want to use it for what the picture depicts (a rogue scarf and a hipster hat), you'll be in business. Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth it! I've had my eye on this for a few months but was hesitant because: A. It seemed a expensive B. I read the reviews about it arriving with broken hooks so they probably weren't going to last a long time. I went to the local store to take a look at them up close and they are very nice. The wood varies with every rack. Overall, very nice weathered look. The construction is very simple and I was tempted to build it myself but after pricing the hooks individually through a local hardware store, it just wouldn't be worth the trouble. I finally took the plunge and bought it in the store and I LOVE it in my home. Exactly what I needed. If a hook breaks, its an easy fix. Also, some people complained about it not having any hardware. There are two slots/holes in the back for you to hang it on two screws. You don't need much... 2 screws, a screwdriver and possibly 2 anchors if you're hanging it on drywall. Really simple. Rated 4 out of 5 by rustic I just received this today and I think it's a beautifully crafted and rustic coat rack, however, one of the hooks came broken. I love the colors and uniqueness of the wood, but for the price, I'd expect more care into the packing. January 9, 2012
