It is so sturdy, has a vintage-style cloth cord, and has such a wonderful old patina that I honestly thought this lamp was a vintage restoration. I loved it in the shop but couldn't come up with a good reason to drop $800 on a lamp I didn't need. Then I showed it to my husband. He loves how each lamp adjusts in more than one place (and stays adjusted unlike cheaper lamps), and was thrilled to find something to light up a dark corner in his home office. One lamp illuminates the room and the other his desk. It is absolutely perfect. Just so you know, each lamp turns on by stepping on a a small floor disk - a little odd, but easier than bending over the lamps to find a switch and in no way detracts from the overall appeal.

I completely agree with everything the reviewer before me has said. At first, I thought $800 was expensive (because, lets be honest, most things at Antropologie are quite pricey)... So I left the store without it. But then I walked through Macy's Home Department on my way to the car and did a quick inventory of the floor lamps at Macy's and most of their lamps were also between $500 and $1200, and they were total junk!
This lamp was the best $800 I have ever spent!! The small touches really set this lamp apart. The braided material covering the power cord, the individual moving parts, the bronze finish, the infinite positions, the switches on the floor, the easily cleaned glass covers, and the ... I really think this lamp might last the longest out of all my furniture!! Great purchase!!
AND... not only do I like.. my husband LOVES it!! Some how it manages to be masculine and feminine at the same time ;-D
