i bought this for a completely different purpose than the intended one... i wanted to use it as a rug underneath my cat's litter box. he kicks litter EVERYWHERE and the litter mats don't do anything to actually trap the pieces. the alternating rows of shag and fringe were PERFECT for this purpose and i have noticed the problem has almost gone away. now i just need to get a strong handheld vaccuum for the rug, but that's another story.
i can imagine this being the perfect bathmat, as well. it is a cream color, and the alternating rows are about 2-3 inches wide. my roomba vaccuum has no problem when going over the mat.
as a plus, while the website says that it is available online only, my local store had a ton that i could check out.
i strongly recommend this mat for ANY purpose that you can think of! it's gorgeous and functional.

I bought the nude and after reading some reviews I thought it was maybe going to disappoint however, it did not. The lack of rubber backing is not a problem if your tiles are a little rough and this also allows for quicker drying and less chance of 'rot' of the fabric. It can be tumble dried on a low heat setting and it comes up as new; really fluffed up with no loss of the fibres (so far!). For a buyer from Australia it's inexpensive and high quality. Very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by OrchidOfAnthro I just loved this rug but....
I had to return it because the rug unraveled in one spot. I washed it on the gentle cycle but I do have a washing machine with an agitator (curse you Mr. Landlord). Although I returned my rug I would advise any one with this rug to wash this lovely in the gentle cycle and in a large mesh or lingerie bag if you have a machine that has an agitator.
The rug has a nice laid back vibe to it and reminds me of the fringed Haitian upholstery and pillows of the 70's. It felt great underfoot. I wish my rug would have worked out.
