Rated 5 out of 5 by Will never look dated This is a beautiful dress that will for work years to come. The are a few anthro dresses I have splurged on because I don't want to wait until it goes on sale and then realize they no longer have my size. This is one of them, like those other few that I stll get compliments on 8 years later. Sure it has that weird little flap on the back but it was not a deal breaker for me and it could be removed by a taylor. It runs slightly small not too bad, often falling between sizes 4/6 the 4 was snug across the crest, not too tight but the 6 fit very well. 130lbs 5'5" 34b July 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gorgeous, timeless piece I saw this on a mannequin in the store and knew I had to try it on. A gorgeous mix of eyelet, lace and scalloped hem...what's not to love? The dress comes with a detachable slip, rather than being lined directly. It is a bit of a hassle, but well worth the little extra effort! It is a neutral tan color and I do like the slight contrast with the off-white fabric. My only minor complaint is that the neckline of the slip doesn't match perfectly with the lace panel...I'd prefer the slip to cover my skin completely (all the way up to the eyelet at the neckline) but that's just my preference. The dress is machine washable, which is a bonus (I am not a huge fan of dry clean only or hand wash only pieces). Size wise, I think this dress runs just a tad small. I am a pretty solid 6 in most things from Anthro (there are a few specific brands where I need an 8) but the 6 in this dress was a bit too tight for my liking. I could tell I would need a larger size when I was just putting on the slip. I could zip up the dress no problem, but if I ate anything there would be some unsightly bulges around my waist (29")! Also, if I took a deep breath, my chest would look squished and flat (I am in between 32DD and 32DDD, chest measurement is about 38"). I went up to the 8 and I love it so much more. It is still fitted, but gives me breathing room. I could still wear the 8 with a padded bra, probably, but it is in no way too loose. I would say though it is a bit loose at the very top at the back, but I do believe it's just how the eyelet fabric sits. Regarding the flutter/extra piece of lace in the back, it doesn't bother me at all. In fact, I think it adds to the romantic and vintage feel of this dress. If you don't like it, I think it can be removed pretty easily by an experienced tailor. I was devastated when I discovered that my dress had a couple of make up stains on it. Unfortunately, due to the light color and how you need to put the dress on/take it off, most of the dresses I looked at had this problem. I loved this dress so much and I was determined to bring the dress home with me, so I brought it to the attention of the store manager, and she said I could try to wash it off and if it didn't come off I could go back and do a return. Luckily, some grease cutting dish soap did the trick--everything came right off. Just a warning if you are trying/buying in store to be careful! I am so happy I was able to bring this piece home with me. I will be wearing it for years to come. There are very few pieces of clothing that I fall in love with completely and MUST HAVE (case in point--I purchased it even though it was stained and no discount was applied), but this was one of them. It is perfect in every way, and I'll try to wear it as many times as I can before I need to put it away until next Spring. July 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect cotton lace dress The lace on this dress is beautiful. I actually LOVE the lace piece on the back because it makes it not just another lace dress and it's a gorgeous piece of lace. If it really bothered you it could be tacked down a bit but it makes this so feminine. I wore it with sandals for casual but then switched out the belt for a beaded belt, put on sparkly earrings and sassy cute shoes and was ready for a date with hubby. I'm 5'7" with 32" inseam and the bottom edge of the scalloped hem hit just below my knee which is longer than it shows on the model. I think the length mentioned in the description may be the shortest edge of the hem. I'm pear shape and typically wear a 6 on top (34b) and 8 in skirts/pants. The 8 was fine at my waist and perfect around my chest. Size up further if you are a little more blessed up top than me. May seem a tad pricey but it's washable so no dry cleaning bill. Plus it's cotton not poly like many lace dresses I come across and I will pay a little more for that. Materials are quality. I'm in love with it. Not a super great pic of us at the end of a long day but shows the length and general fit well. July 15, 2014
