Skirted Fisherman Cardigan

Rated 3 out of 5 by You've got to commit to the skirt This sweater is cozy and tts, but it's the cardigan equivalent of a mullet. Studious in the front, va-va-voomish in the back. If the front were long too, maybe it would work, but it's a lot of volume in the back and it made me think of a bird's tail, and not in a whimsical way, but in a "if I showed this to my husband (who is a good man), he would make fun of it" sort of way. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great details, striking design I was glad to get a chance to try this on, since I couldn't find any pictures that show a side view. The back really is striking compared to the front, and there is a very clear style line where they meet. The inside of the extra back tail is lined with a patterned fabric. I'm 34C-29-36 and the small fit snugly but well. November 4, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice, versatile sweater I saw this at my local anthro in beige and tried it on in both a small and a medium. I thought it looked weird at first, and then I realized it was because the gathering in the back had been ripped out. I went back to the rack and noticed that a lot of these sweaters had that problem--I think it just wasn't sewn well in the first place. The small fit closer to my body but was too tight across the shoulders and under the arms. The medium was looser but overall more comfortable while still being flattering, so I purchased it (with a damage discount) on assurances from my boyfriend that he would be able to sew it for me, and he did! It looks great now. It definitely flares out more for me at the front and back than on the model (in other words, it doesn't sit flush against my stomach). This sweater has become a fast favorite. It matches everything and is formal enough for work. The design is beautiful with nice attention to detail on the cabling, the pockets, and the wooden buttons. It's also warm enough to wear outside but cool enough that it's comfortable to leave on once you get inside. I did notice, however, that the sleeves are already starting to pill after only a few wears. This doesn't bother me very much, but I know some people don't like it. I'm a 34C-30-40 and usually wear a medium in cardigans, so for me this was TTS. Overall I think it's a good deal at the sale price! February 27, 2013
