Rated 5 out of 5 by Cecile Unique umbrella
I purchased a red umbrella like this years ago and put it in my dining room to give it an Asian vibe. It's 8ft tall and I have 10ft tall ceilings. Very dramatic -- adds a lot to the overall look and feel of the room. It didn't seem to fade, even though it was propped against bay windows. I was happy to see Anthropologie carry these. I just bought the green and it's a beautiful, grass-green color (just like the photo). It's made of treated cloth. I'm not sure how well they would stand up to the elements if installed outside. Probably fine if you have them open only while using them. You'd definitely want to close them when not in use to protect them from the wind. Excellent value at the sale price.

Our wait for the perfect backyard umbrella ceased when Mai Tai appeared on the Anthro scene! They (red & yellow) appear quite durable, as they are basically large, cloth treated parasols with bamboo poles (one of the hardest woods). Hubby drilled a hole into a huge tree trunk we had in the backyard, creating an equally unique rustic stand. We have received many compliments thus far, and plan to store them indoors when not in use, so as to prolong their lives and reduce fading.
