Do you notice how the sleeves differ in the two model photos? In the outdoor photo with the blond model the sleeves are shorter, rounded, hemmed with a thin band?In the second photo the sleeves are longer, wider, open ?My guess is that the sleeves in the outdoor photo were rolled and pinned both at the shoulder as well as around the arm, temporarily, just for the photo shoot.
Fabric and other styling details such as the embroidery seem lovely. Would much prefer the shorter, banded sleeves to the open appearance of what I suspect is the actual design. Thanks, then, to the stylist who did this image for giving me a tailoring idea.
I understand that stylists pin and alter clothing for photo shoots - the 'Shibori' Maxi Dress appears a lot more fitted in the bodice in the photos 'outdoors' than the studio model's shots? But in this case - it's a bigger styling difference. Suppose I can bring to a tailor if the rest of the dress flatters.

I wish the waist was stretchy, I think that would greatly change the versatility of this dress, but alas it is zip and runs small. I am normally a 4-6 and found the waist tight although the top did fit my 34D chest comfortably. I am 5'1 and the hem of the 6 regular ended at my knees so taller ones might find it short. Otherwise, lovely dress of great quality.

I noticed the sleeves too. I really like the catalog version with the shorter more feminine sleeves. I take it the actual product has the straighter, longer sleeves???
