Rated 4 out of 5 by As in the piciture This is a lovely, unusual dress. The fabric is nice; I like the fact it is silk and linen, but it is not worth the full price asked. At the reduced price, it is well worth acquiring. August 17, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by What the****? I have been duped. I thought for sure at this price point i would see a hand embroidered authentic dress. Not so. It looks as though the "embroidered" part is upholstery fabric that has been combined with a raw silk to form a mediocre dress. The upholstery part is stiff and does not appear to be hand done. The label says "MADE IN CHINA" and there is no indication that any sort of hand-made detail has taken place. The petite XS fits like a size 2 petite. It is an interesting dress but there is absolutely no way it is worth what the asking price is. June 4, 2014

Los Angeles native Karyn Craven launched Burning Torch in 1999. She shaped the line as an ongoing homage to all eras of vintage, recreating her favorite throwback elements of tailoring and proportion in her modern-day pieces. The gorgeous embroidery of this cotton-silk dress says it all. We'd pair it with a retro, off-the-shoulder hairdo, like a pert bob or a swooped bun, and minimal accessories.
