Rated 5 out of 5Â by LinzTheSwimmer Great dress for smaller hips <36"
The dress is meant to be form-fitting, and while the lining has a fair amount of stretch- the viscose shell has no give to it. This discrepancy in fabrics is most notable around the hips. Meaning, if your hips are 36" or wider, you will most definitely need to order a size Medium or larger. Otherwise, lumps show out of the nude lining on the sillouhette of the hip area.
In the photo I'm wearing a Small and I'm 5-5.5", 135 lbs, 35 C, waist 29" (not tiny), hips 36", athletic. You can see how the dress bunches up a bit around my hips, Hmmm. Very tricky fit, indeed! I'm undecided weather to keep the Small or order up. The dress would drape strangely if it were not hugging your waist.
FYI, the 2 reviews below left me confounded....the reviewers weigh 5 lbs less than me and are 1/2" taller, yet the size Small does not rise up and bunch around my middle as the other reviewer commented...I'm pretty sure that issue has to do with hip size. My advice is: if you have greater muscle mass, you can fit into smaller sizes despite weighing more than people who are your same height. Hope this is useful for athletic folks!

This is a pretty dress, but the fit is off a bit.
The sleeves hit just right, giving you full coverage in the back of the arm and under the armpit. The sheer portion on top is also a pretty and feminine touch.
The "body" of the dress, or the red portion, is not as pretty in person as it is online - not as light - it's somewhat nude/beige in color, not ivory - but the top IS ivory. Black mixed with white thread, moves almost in a large floral design, pinning down all the tiny little red balls - some of which have come off already.
In terms of sizing, I am usually a size 4 in Anthro, and I bought a medium in this. I did not try on the small. The medium fit like I would expect a size 4 or 6 to, but it's a bit big in the waist and doesn't quite lay right in the back, right above the bum - extra room there. I don't have a lot of room in the hips. Altering the dress at the waist would probably make the dress lay strange. It zipped up easily. For reference, I'm 5'7" and a 34B, 29" waist, and 38" hips. The skirt actually hits right above my knee.
I'm not sure how long this will hold up. The outer layer just seems fragile. We'll see!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by btvs Gorgeous dress - tight fit
This dress is absolutely stunning on. I love it! As far as fit goes, I tend to go for a size medium in a stretchy dress so I went with a large in this. It fits like a glove (maybe too much - hard to zip even though my torso wasn't too wide for it). The main problem I'm having though is that on the zipper side, the fabric sticks out. It's just weird looking! I don't know if it's this particular dress, perhaps not taken in enough along the zipper line, if it's just me, or if I need a larger size? I NEED this dress so I'm either going to send this one back and try another, maybe an xl if they have that (although it fits great everywhere else) OR I'll take it in for alternations, which frightens me a bit! For the amount I paid, I have to say having to get it altered for something that I believe shouldn't have to be is a bummer.
As others said, the lining is nice and stretchy but the outer shell has zero give. Not easy getting off. Did fit in the bust though which can be a problem for me (36D).
