by theOriginalOliveOyl Quality piece, but poor design for media center
Anyone who has a home theater setup will find this console very versatile. The openings are big enough for a center channel speaker or receiver (20.5?W x 7.5?H; with an extra .75? on both dimensions past the front façade). These dimensions are not the best for a receiver, but the back opening will help disperse heat buildup during normal use. The foldout doors (20.5?W x 6.5?H; 1? less due to depth of the foldout) are perfect for hiding other less used audio equipment like blu ray players and game consoles. So why are we rating this as poor design? It does not support the weight of a 55 inch plasma TV and all other equipment (86lb TV, 22lb receiver, 19lb center channel, 13lb blu ray and another 15lb of other smaller pieces = 155lb total). The piece bowed in the middle; noticeable with the naked eye. The left foldout door was unable to easily open due to the stress of weight. When measured, the middle section was lower by .4375 inches...a huge difference!! We had to wedge wood supports (10in x 2in x 3 1/8 in) to the two center beams (see in picture) so that the piece looks even in all 3 sections. This seems to be working given our hardwood floors, but might be more difficult on carpet without securing the 2?x4? pieces of wood to the console. After paying a premium for this furniture piece, it was frustrating that we had to fix the design.

Rated 2 out of 5 by SusieH Sagging piece does not support weight
I was ecstatic to convince my fiance' that we should splurge on this piece. We got it and loved the way it looked. However, after only months, it began to sag in the middle. After spending so much money, this is obviously very disappointing. We do not have much weight on it at all. We have a flat-screen TV #light by television standards#, DVD player, and cable box on the unit. Furniture being marketed and sold as a "console" should be designed well enough to support this weight. It is visibly sagging in the middle. In addition, the wood on one of the front legs is splintered. This is not terribly obviousy, but again, for the price, we find this unacceptable. I do not recommend this for anyone planning to store books, TV, or other heavy items. Very disappointing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by HappyLife01 Love it
I've been eyeing this for a VERY long time, and it went on sale for about 10 seconds, so I bought it. It just arrived yesterday. It's exactly what I wanted. The color is variable because the wood varies, but it's basically true to the color you see online ( medium brown with a grayish hue). The wood surface has been sanded, but there are lots of imperfections due to the nature of reclaimed wood, so just keep in mind that it's not a smooth surface. Also, they might have redesigned it a bit, because unlike one of the previous reviewers, my unit does have two supports underneath, so it holds the weight of our TV / receiver / DVD / etc. just fine. I took off one star because it's REALLY expensive, and I'm not sure I would have bought it at full price. But overall, I love it.
