Ginger Dress

Rated 2 out of 5 by This dress is just as beautiful in person as it is in the photo. The silk feels very high quality. The colors are just gorgeous. This is why I was so sad to discover that it made me look like a fat, lumpy sack. I'm typically a size 2 or 0, and wear an XS top. The size 2 dress was very tight on my thighs, but ginormous on my top half, blousing out and adding what looked like 10 pounds of weight to my top. It also puffs out right below the waist, giving the wearer an instant muffin top and pouch. Finally, it gave me a flat mom-jean butt, by blousing out just enough above the curve of my rear to make me look as flat as possible in that area. Not good. I have a bottom-heavy figure. But I think this is the first thing I've ever worn that actually made me look top-heavy. Maybe if you are stick thin, this could work for you. Maybe. March 14, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Comfortable I bought this for an outdoor garden party at the Preakness and also bought the belt shown . Very comfortable, got a lot of compliments. It's not super sexy but is still flattering. I am always just between a 6 and an 8, got an 8 this time which was just a little large. Colors are subdued, but still springy. Light, well made. Enjoyed it. May 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Spring is in the Air Wonderful combination of patterns that create interest to a special occasions dress. The fit was great for me as I have a larger bust. Though I could see that women with smaller bust size may have a little more room the top than desired. Because of the design of the dress, a good seamstress would easily be able to tuck the fabric where need be if this were an issue. I fit in my usual size 10. So, I would say that dress runs TTS. Leather straps are a really interesting detail that might be missed in viewing the on line picture. Also, consider ordering the shoes that are shown. They are so comfortable, pretty, and match the dress beautifully. I could not even imagine another pair of shoes with the dress! April 11, 2013

Los Angeles native Karyn Craven launched Burning Torch in 1999. She shaped the line as an ongoing homage to all eras of vintage, recreating her favorite throwback elements of tailoring and proportion in her modern-day pieces. We love the creamy leather straps of this printed column; they add a subtly edgy touch to an otherwise ladylike look.
