Rated 5 out of 5 by Classic with a twist That Anthropologie carries a line of white blouses by Byron Lars is a surprise; starched white isn't their style. But the very feminine and unusual styling is, and this piece is precisely that twist on the classic white button-down shirt. Material feels substantial and crisp, although skin-tone can be seen through most of it, made more noticeable because the breast pockets are opaque; a white camisole is probably a good idea. Design is wonderful; the princess seams create a perfect hourglass without being tight, and the pulled back collar is attractive. The uppermost buttons are nonfunctional; above the topmost functional button is a hidden button that reduces gaping while preserving the v-neck. The back elastic that pulls in the waist comfortably. The hemline looks good untucked; ok tucked into high-waisted bottoms but not low because of its short length, and may run very short on taller women. Overall, the design of this top works very well on a petite frame, including the 3/4 sleeve. Fits true to size; fitted but not tight. February 24, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Almost Crisp White Blouse I had the opportunity to try this on in the store. I'm usually an xs or a 2 in blouses but found the size 4 to be the best fit. I'm 5'4 115# 34-26-36 for reference. The 2 fit but was snug around the bust and made me feel like I should hold my breath. When I tried on the 4 those issues were resolved but it's a bit loose in the back. I love the detail of the extra hidden button over the bust area. I did not find the blouse to be sheer over the pockets but it is a little over the rest of the blouse. I will probably need a cami with this. My only real disappointment with this otherwise lovely blouse is that the material is a little wrinkly. I was hoping for a more sturdy crisp white blouse - something that looked really clean and polished but with an edge. This has the great design element but the fabric is a little thin and will need to be tended to before wear. I'm going to try to steam it and seem how that goes. When this went on sale I decided to go for it. I think it's worth the sale price. Give it a try! April 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by wonderful tailoring I am so happy with this blouse. It fits true to size. With the princess seams and other great tailoring details, it is feminine but still classic to wear to work or many other occasions. But with a quirky skirt and the right jewelry, it can look super boho or vintage. I would buy shirts like this in a variety of colors if they came in the beautiful hues that Anthro so often features! That said, I really love white so if I could only pick one color, this would be it :) I gave the quality just 4 stars because a couple of the buttons started coming off right after purchase. An easy fix, but a bit disappointing for the price. September 16, 2013
