99% of the time, I would never even try something like this on. I have an hourglass body shape and knit pencil skirts tend to make my hips look badonkadonk- not in a good way. This could not have been more different. Something about the heavy, yet softness of the knit coupled with the print make the skirt extremely flattering. I have worn it twice, and both times I have received tons of comments about how beautiful it is. It is super comfortable and walks on the line between business and casual. You can really make it work for you either way depending on what you wear it with. It's great. I'm thinking about getting the other color. As for the fit, there wasn't a visible difference between the way the S and M looked when on the body. I'd say if you run between sizes, go for the smaller of the two, as it is more likely to stay in place and not scooch up over the course of the day.

I love knits that are substantial enough to wear to work and look put-together instead of sloppy, and this skirt fits the bill! I'm 5'7", 135ish libs with a 39-40" hip and the Medium seemed to work okay for me, especially in the black and white pattern. I also tried the red color, and loved the color, but felt the solid skirt accentuated my curves more than I was comfortable with - the black and white pattern distracts a little more from any lumps and bumps so that's the winner. Also - it's lined! I was very pleasanlty surprised by that - makes the skirt so soft and comfortable against the skin. I hope they come out with more patterns and colors in this skirt!

I bought this skirt three weeks ago, and I find myself wearing it everywhere, from job interviews to meetings to weekend trips. I have the red color, and might have to buy the black and white. I have paired it with an ivory peplum top and with a slubby sort of t-shirt for different effects, and have worn it with ladylike heels and tall flat boots. So far, no matter how or where I wear it, I get compliments. This is the kind of staple that a girl really should have: it's easy to wear, elegant, and feels more like pajamas than any pencil skirt has the right to feel. The red color is also quite nice- it's not garishly bright, which might take the pencil shape over the top, and the pattern works wonderfully to give texture and dimension and perhaps distract from any of my lumpier bits.
On that note, the material is heavy enough that the pencil line falls right, but it is incredibly soft. One appears curvy but the shape flatters the form well. The length is demure without being at all old lady-ish. Even after several wearings, the material has not stretched out, and has maintained its shape perfectly.
This skirt is also a value at its current price, because it is so wearable and so classic. This is an item that I feel will be a valuable part of my closet for many years. I do wish that there was a way to translate it into the spring, and I may do my best to make that work.
