Rated 5 out of 5 by Lovely A-line Skirt I have been waiting on this skirt to arrive in one of my local stores, and yesterday I was happy to see it as I walked through the door. To be clear, this skirt is more a-line than traditional pencil in shape. It doesn't flare out too much, though, as some a-line skirts can do. It seems to run TTS, at least for me. I usually wear a 6 in a skirt with a higher waist, and this one does sit a bit higher. The 6 fit like a dream, very comfortable though the waistband where I carry my weight. I am straight up and down with no hips or waist to speak of, but since this one has the a-line shape I imagine that someone with some curves could wear it, too. I don't like a skirt to fit tightly, and so the 6's fit is perfect, comfortable and easy. The brocade fabric isn't too stiff, but it does have body. There is a bit of stretch in the fabric, too. I was easily able to put my hands in the front pockets, a detail that I like very much because it gives the skirt a little more relaxed style. I tried it on with a t-shirt, and the brocade didn't overwhelm due to the style of the skirt. The color is a sea foam or mint green, very soft and lovely. I am 5'3" and the skirt fell just to my knee. January 27, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful, comfortable skirt! I tried on both the mint and the navy blue (which is dark enough to pass as black at a glance). You can see the brocade more on the mint color; the brocade looks more like lace on the navy blue until a closer examination. To be honest, the mint color definitely stands out a lot more than the navy. The navy colorway just looks too bland. The skirt has a bit of a stretch, so you might want to try it on to get your actual size if you're in between sizes. My usual size was TTS, and the mint color is gorgeous. I'm 5'4" and the skirt hit me at the knee. And there are pockets! It sits at the waist comfortably that I'm considering purchasing the navy one later. The price seems fair, considering most pencil skirts go for more these days. January 26, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Beautiful First, let me say that this skirt is beautiful. Second, let's talk about the sizing. :) I bought the skirt in both colors, just COMPLETELY different sizes. The mint green I bought in a size 6, and the navy a size 12. They both fit me. If you lay line them up on top of each other they are the exact same size. While someone might would say that it was just the skirt, it wasn't. I am a true 8 so to begin with a tried the 8 on in the navy. It was tiny. This same was true with the 10, and then the 12 fit. I had a 6 in the mint in the room, so I asked for a 12 in the mint. It fell off of me, literally. The inconsistency made me decide to try on the 6 in the mint, perfect fit. Moral of story, buy the skirt, but order up in size if you want navy, and down in size for mint :) P.S. anthro please be more consistent in sizing! ): March 11, 2013
