Here's the thing- this blazer is beautiful. And the print is not at all overpowering. But it is overpriced. Especially as some of the detailing is off. For example, the collar lays a little funny around the neck and at the button. It is missing some structure. If it were less expensive i would have overlooked this issue. But for now it went back and I will wait for it to go on sale. I am usually a 4 and felt the 6 was the best size for me in this.

This definitely runs one size small, but I am on the fence as to whether to exchange it for a larger size or just return. I like the idea of the jacket and planned to wear it over a cream tiered cami and jeans - similar to the model. In person it is REALLY shiny and I am not sure if that translates to looking inexpensive. The cut is strange too. The arms are really short - and I am petite. The one I received definitely has arms shorter than those on the model (who I assume is not a petite). The arms are also cut very narrow - even on the forearm. In addition, the jacket is cropped (the layers on the model minimize this). But at the end of the day, I think the sheen is a show-stopper.

The print on this jacket is GORGEOUS. It's harmonious, has a little bit of drama, and at the same time, it's elegant and sweet. I love its painterly aspect - the print reminds me of a summer crossing on the ferry at sunset. The material is velvet, but has a sheen to it, and it is sort of floppy - not a stiff fabric. I don't expect it's cotton velvet, probably synthetic (but still beautiful). I ordered a size 4 (am 5.5 at 110 pounds) and it fits very well across the shoulders - I think 2 (which I sometimes take) might have been too tight. I prefer a jacket that allows me lots of movement and does not restrict my body. The stitching on the collar is a little skimpy. Otherwise - the perfect jacket for me. I look forward to getting lots of use out of it in the spring, as it seems very versatile.
