I tried this on in the store the other day, and thought it was beautiful on the hanger. I have an hourglass shape. This skirt does not work with my body type. I tried on my usual medium. The skirt was tight on my hips and had so much extra fabric around my waist. I wish it had been designed to taper in more at the waist. If you have a straight figure, this will be gorgeous.

There are two navy blue shades in the skirt; notice the hem. It is a comfy jersey skirt with an overlay of semi-transparent dressier fabric. The picture looks to me as if there is a side slit on the models right side. There is no slit. The length is a tad shorter than jersey maxi skirts I bought at Anthro last year. The waist does run large. The stitched down pleats over the lower stomach helped me look thiner. Elastic waist shirts that are gathered from the band at the waist make me look bigger. The skirt is light weight for winter, even in Atlanta. I can add boots and a hip length sweater or jacket. I think I will enjoy it more in the spring with a tee and sandals. I never noticed it online; I don't like the shoes the model is wearing with this skirt. I want to say what I really think about these square, pointy, prudish shoes, but I won't. But when I saw it in the store today, it looked like a pretty and versatile skirt. I subtracted a star from the quality because of the dry clean recommended label. I also have some concern about the elastic of the waist. As elastic ages, it tends to loose its elasticity and will be expensive to have a seamstress replace. But, darn, it is so comfortable. It may be worth it!
