Rated 5 out of 5 by way better in person Anthro you kill me...I come in to buy some tights and walk out with yet another fabulous dress! You can't see it from the pictures, but this dress has a beautiful gold brocade throughout that makes it stunning. I paired it with the earrings pictured (not yet available on the website, but I got them in the store# for an edgier look. Normally I hate wearing anything with metallic thread because I think it cheapens the look, but it's actually what makes this dress extra special. Fit is quite snug on top, even for me #5'2", 101 pounds, 32A-25-32), so size up if you're not flat like me. There is a stretchy panel in the back, but even so it was tight enough to be slightly uncomfortable. It hits me right at my natural waist and is very flattering. The bottom half poofs a bit because of the thick fabric and pleats, and will disguise a belly pooch. The hem comes right to my knees. There is boning along the sides of the bodice as well as directly beneath each breast and sticky grip along the entire top to help keep it up. The boning in front is genius - it makes me look like I have a bust. For curvier ladies, the girls will be covered but not squashed, your waist will look teeny-tiny, and you will have plenty of room for your hips. November 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Smiley face I went into Anthro looking for a dress to wear for an elegant evening out. I tried on a couple- mostly A-line (my favorite because they give the illusion of hips, which I don't really have), and saw this dress as I was beginning to lose hope. I agree with another reviewer that says that the material looks much better in person. It has a shimmering gold quality that really accents the black and tan colors of the dress well. The fit is also very nice. There is a bit of bunching under the seam of the waist (the pleats also contribute to it a bit), but it actually comes across as quite feminine somehow (the magic of Anthro at work, I suppose). The front view is very feminine as well, also giving the illusion that I have hips. I am 34-26-37, 5'7", 125 lbs and purchased a size 2. The dress come down to just above my knee, which looks very classy. No part of the dress is particularly snug. The bodice is snug in a way that holds the dress up, which is good. The skirt is roomy enough on me that I can sit down without a problem. All in all, this dress is very comfortable and ELEGANT, which I love. And the price is fair, which I love even more. A nice clutch, a necklace, some new shoes, and I'll be set for my Opera Night! November 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by love this dress I didn't know my size so I went to the store to try this dress on before I bought it. I think other reviewers noted that this dress is too puffy, but I disagree. I also disagree that this dress runs small. I'm 5'4, 123 lbs and ended up with a size 2. The 4 had that puffy effect on the bottom half and was not flattering to my figure. I also tried on the 0 b/c I'm fairly flat chested (34A) but it didn't quite fit right overall. My torso is on the longer side. The 2 (with a little pushup bra help) actually fit the best on me. It's hard to find strapless dresses that look good on me and stays up throughout the night without having to pull it up all the time, but this one rocks. Great holiday party dress! I really like the gold shimmery detail that you can only appreciate when you see it in person. December 13, 2012

GOLD Style #:26033969 As the days get shorter and blizzards loom on the horizon, we're digging the starkness and simplicity of achromatic ensembles. A few vintage-inspired gold flourishes don't hurt either. By Girls from Savoy. Dashed Gilt Brocade Dress
