Rated 4 out of 5 by Great, fun cookbook! This cook book is great. I love that the author gives a lot of interesting historical information for all of the cakes! The recipes are pretty easy to follow and the 3 I've made so far have turned out tasty! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because there aren't pictures of all of the recipes, so sometimes I'm not sure what it's supposed to end up looking like. Great book, though, March 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I recently purchased the "Vintage Cocktails" book to place standing up on my wine/bar rack. It gave my wine rack a needed touch of pizzaz. When I saw this book, I thought it would go equeally perfect in my kitchen, placed standing right next to my pink Kitchen-Aid mixer. I was right. Not only does this book look amazing in my kitchen, it also has super yummy recipes of yesterday, that I cannot wait to try out. August 15, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful book This may not matter but I love the colors and the cover of this book!! That said, my mother in law and I had lots of fun going through some of the recipes while waiting at the eye doctor for a very unpleasant eye injection...it was so much fun the Dr. was practically an interruption and the injection was much better than usual because she was relaxed and enjoying herself. There are many classic recipes here and I will have fun trying them. There aren't quite as many lovely color pictures inside as I would like, but the recipes are great!! Who knew that upside down cakes were called flips??!! My 85 yo MIL sure didn't and neither did I. We truly enjoyed this cookbook and will continue to use it for a long time!! January 30, 2013
