Strokes & Lines Tee Dress

Rated 1 out of 5 by Sheer, low-quality, not as pictured First of all, this is not cotton and spandex as the description states; it's pure cotton. Secondly, that cotton is EXTREMELY thin and sheer. I tried on the dress with a nude bra and a nude lace thong and you could still see everything. The dress is NOT A-line as pictured (one of the main things that attracted me to it). Rather, it clings at the thighs and is looser around the belly. The paint strips are chunky. I understand the dress is hand-painted, but I suppose I thought they'd use a dye or some sort of paint that would not sit on top of the dress. I could have bought a cheap, sheer dress for $10 and painted it myself for this effect. And honestly, I have no idea how they made the dress look like this on the model! This must be an XXL dress that they pinned back strategically to make it appear A-line. Sorry for the scathing review--I was so looking forward to this dress, since if it matched the photo, it would be perfect! Even if this went down to $20, I would still not buy it. November 17, 2012

The art collective Fort Makers revels in creating unconventional projects at their sunny Brooklyn studio. Here, a boxy jersey dress is handpainted by artist Naomi Clark; the simple, timeless shape allows her abstract-expressionistic brushstrokes to take center stage. No two are exactly alike.
