Boater High-Tops

Rated 5 out of 5 by Soft as a Slipper I bought these from another online store in coal after seeing them originally on this site. I'm a 10.5 and these only went up to a 10 so I did a little research as to whether they were available in larger sizes. I went to the Bed Stu site and saw they were larger in whole sizes but the site said they ran a half size small so an 11 seemed like the go. They were a bit more expensive than the $80 on Anthro but seemed like what I'd searched high and low for-a fully covered comfortable boot/shoe for running about after children at the park that looked a bit cool. They arrived and they are a perfect fit so I would recommend sizing up a half size. They are very flexible and feel as soft and comfortable as a slipper. I don?t really know what a boat shoe is apart from one to wear aboard a boat but maybe they?re a shoe that isn?t for everyday and these do seem like they may not take a great deal of wear. That?s ok as they are so comfortable and inexpensive, I?ll wear them until they give up. They look good but are very long-looking due to the high cut and moccasin style. They also seem a bit narrow. The leather is so soft that they probably won?t push your foot in if it hits the side too much, as far as I can tell. The coal colour has some variations to it that I like but can?t see on this navy pair. I am very happy with this purchase and now have a casual shoe that doesn?t look like I?ve given up. Rated 2 out of 5 by Not as pictured I had been envisioning these boots as my go to fall boots, but was really disappointed when they arrived. These boots while soft and flexible are not as they appear in the picture. They have painted "distressing" all over the boot. It makes the boot look very cheap. Also they are extremely narrow and make your foot look very long. Super bummed! September 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by best shoe ever i'm in love with these - they are a TAD different than pictured, i would describe the "worn" look of these as faint paint brush marks all around the seams of the shoe. it doesn't bother me, i love it - just different than the photo. i wear a size 6, bought a 6 and found it TTS. i seriously wear these everyday, with or without socks. they're incredibly soft and i didn't have to "wear them in" like most boots. i did replace the laces because the leather ones were wearing a little thin.
