Rated 5 out of 5 by Glinda2k Beautiful, feminine fall dress
Found this dress in a local store. I was hesitant due to previous reviews.
The color is exactly as pictured- rather mustardy-gold. I wasn't sure I'd like it on me, but I do... I think it's thanks to my hair having quite a bit of red in it. I'm 5'2", 120 lbs. The regular small fit PERFECTLY, hit me in all the right places and accentuated the right parts. The back is a bit low, much lower than the front, but I think that's part of the appeal. My bra didn't show, fortunately. It looks very demure from the front, a bit more sexy from the back which I think is fun.
I thought the dress felt nice and soft- not scratchy at all.
I paired it with the Blurred Pigments Loop scarf in Rasperry (item# C25333394). It's a partly-wool loop scarf, print is like an fall impressionist painting- GORGEOUS!
This is my favorite new fall piece!

I was excited about this dress as it was my favorite from the September catalogue. However, the poor fit and middling quality of the dress left me disappointed (FYI: this dress is not an "online exclusive" as I found it in my local store).
The dress comes with an attached slip made of soft jersey cotton. This is a nice touch; I was afraid that the dress would be sheer, as it kind of appears to be in the catalogue picture. However, I found the fit to be very poor, particularly in the hips. My measurements are 32-27-36, and I typically wear a size 2. I grabbed both an XS and S. The S fit better but in both sizes, the first scalloped tier hit at the worst part of my body. Perhaps it needed to be longer; instead of being a nicely draped layer, it was more of a peplum that ended at the widest point of my hips, making my hips look even wider. Not a look I'm going for. Something about the fit also made my shoulders look broader than they are. I did like that the dress is longer than the description implies. The regular size has to be longer than 33.5" because it hit me right above my knees (which is typical of 35-35.5" dresses on my 5'4" stature).
Finally, I found the material to be average. The cotton jersey lining is nice and soft, but I found the sleeves (unlined) to be itchy, possibly due to the angora content in the dress.

This dress is so cute on the model, but sadly did not work on me. First, it was terribly itchy on me! Even with the lining, I would not be able to stand it for more than a few minutes. The dress is also very short. Even on my five foot frame it was well above the knee. It runs quite small, so you may want to size up because there is no give to it at all. The lining runs tight, too. I think this dress will look best on someone who is built like the model wearing it... tall and thin, with a smaller chest. The color is really pretty for fall, and will look really great with a pair of brown tights and boots. I wish I could've made it work...
