by ellenphant FYI for Petites
This dress is beautiful, and very well made. There are a couple of other reviews detailing the fit/material of the dress but I still felt I needed to submit a review about the length of the dress. I am not sure who is measuring the dresses for the website, but unless Anthro cuts a couple of inches off the dresses prior to producing them, the person needs a serious lesson on how to use a measuring tape. The length has been very off for many of the items on the website, so I should know better...but I still ordered the petite because it's listed as 36.25 inches long. I don't expect it to be 100% exact and expect some margin of error especially with different sizes but I ordered the petite 2 and the dress is 32.75 inches long, with the lining only being 30.5 inches long. It looks like a kids dress and I couldn't pick something off the ground without possibly getting arrested. Granted, I am on the edge of petite and regular at 5'4'' but I need to warn others of similar height not to try petite sizing (esp. since it's online only and you're most likely paying for shipping too) unless a super short dress is the look you're going for. Picture attached.
Off to try the regular sizing because it is very pretty and the colors are beautiful.

This was hanging on the mannequin this afternoon, paired with the Frye Ridgecrest Boots, and looked really cute, so I figured, why not?
It's a VERY nice dress! I normally wear a 6 in dresses, and that's what I'd take in this one. I don't really like that the bust is actually somewhat tight once you zip it up, but I also tried the 8 and it was too big, so I'd stick with your normal size, but if you have a larger bust like me (36DD) and want to be able to wear a top under it, then size up. Also, the zipper is pretty exposed, but it is on the side of the dress, so it's not entirely too noticeable. The dress ends a couple of inches above the knee, but isn't obscenely short.
The things I nitpick at are outweighed by the fit of the dress. It's definitely a fit and flare dress, and very feminine, which I'm glad to see coming back. There aren't any pockets, but it's not a dealbreaker. I do wish I could have tried it with the blazer as pictured on the model - I love the styling like that.
A lovely dress overall, and one I'll eventually get.

I agree with pretty much everything positive that's been said about this dress...it is a very feminine, flattering fit, and I love the colors. I sized down to avoid the "baggy" look that some other reviewers mentioned. I also really love the attention to detail in the design - the fine scalloping around the neckline and hem is so pretty.
However, it does run a bit short. I think it feels even shorter than it is because the liner doesn't come all the way down to the lace hem. I agree with another reviewer's request for pockets, which would have made this dress nearly perfect. The other nit-picky thing I dislike about this dress is the zipper design and placement. I generally hate a side zip, and this zipper is large and exposed. I get that zipper detail is so hot right now, but if the designer wanted to highlight it, it should have been put on the back of the dress. It's weird that it's a noticeable zipper that's been "hidden" on the side of the dress.
