Rated 5 out of 5Â by Taba Loosens for a great fit with layers
The day we got this into the store it was freezing and I ended up buying it on a whim just because it was such a great length on me and was the warmest thing we had at that time.
As impulse buys go, I couldn't be happier with it. I found it stretched out a little bit over a handful of wears, but I had anticipated this when I purchased it. Buy the size that you normally would, and if you find it fits a teensy bit snug, don't sweat it. It's going to loosen up a bit as you wear it.
I'm looking forward to wearing this into fall and winter and layering all sorts of things under it to keep toasty warm.

The photo's of this big, huggy sweater had me longing to try it on, and try it on I finally did, this past wkend. It's like wearing a St. Bernard when you're used to poodles and golden retrievers! Huge, and very, very warm. (Would work very well for those long days in a damp Scottish castle.) Although the on-line description quotes "wool" as the content, it is actually 30% wool, 70% acrylic. Appears to be hand-knitted with very large needles-- watch out for catching fingers, watches and rings on the inner loops of yarn that leap from pattern to pattern.
I like the sturdy wooden buttons that slip easily into their loops, and I love the generous, celebratory colors that are true to the photos. Size Med. fit me very well (for reference, I am 5'8", 135 lbs, #34-B). The reasons I am not tempted to buy it (at this point) are the following: (a) too warm to wear in-doors, but not enough of a "coat" to wear outside in the cold, for me; and (b) the yarn doesn't seem to wear well-- the one I tried on in the store was already looking a tad over-worn, as if I'd found it at a 2nd-hand shop, reducing it to a casual blue-jeans combo piece. Which isn't enough wearability for me, at this current price.
But if you love big, casual sweaters, and tend to chill easily, this piece may be a great find for you.

I am very happy with this sweater because it is exactly what I have been looking for: a big snuggly winter sweater to keep me warm during the incomprehensible Canadian winter. I wanted something with a heavier gauge and a large knit and this sweater is it. I am 5'9 and ordered an XL because I wanted it to be big...something that I could really wrap myself up in when it hits -40C. The knit is tighter when you first put it on, but as one reviewer has already pointed out, it will relax and loosen up. I love the home-knit look of this sweater....it looks like something I knit myself and has a nice homey feel to it. The colours are vibrant and the earthy palette reminds me of autumn and harvest time. The wooden toggles only add to this sweaters allure, making it seem like the perfect homey item to wear on a brisk autumn day or while sitting in front of a roaring fire with a cup of hot cocoa while winter rages outside. I definitely recommend this sweater, and at the current sales price, you can't go wrong!
