Rated 3 out of 5 by This is a nice dress but it has some flaws. Size-wise I found it to run large. I'm 36-28-40, usually size 6-8 (more often an 8 these days) in tops and dresses. I tried on an 8 and it pretty big all over - the top was too large and the waist did not cinch in much. However, the length was good (5'3" - hit just above knee) and I would be worried about losing length when sizing down. Waist hit just above my natural waist - between natural and empire. The 2 main problems with this dress I found are: 1) it is pull on, not zip up, so it's just not that fitted through the waist (I'm betting they pinned the heck out of it on the model); and 2) the top is large and unflattering. It made my 34B chest look really big and saggy. I would pick this one up on sale and get it altered to be more fitted through the chest and waist. If you're ordering online I would suggest trying your size and a size smaller. The quality seemed very good - nice mix of materials (cotton top, nice weight corduroy skirt, chiffon-y waistband) August 15, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE this dress I knew I had to buy this the second I saw it. I first tried on my usual size 4 (32D-28"-38", 133lbs, 5'6"), which fit everywhere (thank you elastic waistband!) except the top seemed too baggy. I ended up sizing down, which solved the problem. The length is a few inches above my knee. The top half is lightweight cotton with black embroidery. The skirt is a fine wale corduroy which gives the dress more structure (also is more cold weather friendly!). It also has pockets! Conclusion: love. October 26, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this dress!!! I. love. this. dress. It didn't look like much on the hanger, but it looks absolutely adorable on. It is my go-to dress for parties and events, dinners and baby showers. It is wonderfully versatile. However, I don't think it would flatter just anyone. I am tall, straight & slender with a long torso and small chest. (I've seen it on shorter, curvier women and the dress merely truncated them. Sad!) I bought it in the chocolate brown/black. The armholes fit nicely around my arms (not too tight or too loose), the upper portion fits across my chest without pulling or gapping and the empire waist hugs around my ribs. The hem (which is a party flare) falls a few inches above my knee (as shown on the model). I love that the dress is pullover (with just a tad of stretch) and that the skirt is made of corduroy. The corduroy gives it just enough of a casual feeling, but it's still dressy enough to wear out. It can be worn bare-legged with casual flats or with a sweater, tights & boots. LOVE IT. Oh, and it has pockets. What more could a girl like me ask for? September 23, 2012
