I had beed eyeing these lovely pillows for a long time, waiting for them to go on sale. I ordered 2 and when they arrived the sequen work was already falling off.. the sewing has not been done well and since its silk, once the sequens fall off, the stitches show making the pillow look damaged.
Its a great design but really poor quality. I was in two minds to take out all the sequens and hand sow them myself but at $70 its not worth the additional effort.

My experience is opposite from the other reviewer. Granted, I did not order mine. I bought mine from the store.
The sequins and all stitching were intact. There are some natural "pulled threads" at the edges of the cut linen and silk fabrics.
This is done on purpose. The edges are not sewn and are not meant to be. The pillow is also firm and full. I LOVE the feel of the silk and linen fabrics.
So much so that I decided I didn't want the sequins on the pillow.
So I removed them. The sequins are sewn so well that removing them was a very exacting and slightly time consuming process.
I removed them because I like the feel of the fabrics - NOT the sequins. I like my throw pillows to be decorative AND comfy.
Anyway, yes you are going to have pulled threads showing when you remove them. They can be pulled out. Still, there MAY be some tiny holes through the silk in some areas and signs of threads etc. This does not bother me at all. To me - it only ADDS to the "shabby chic" style of it. The sequins made it look more exotic. I wanted it to be more "cottage." It is now slightly distressed in a GOOD way from removing the sequins. The sale price going now is a FANTASTIC deal!!! I LOVE the way my pillow looks now so much more! It's all a matter of personal preference.
