I tried this dress on and whisked myself off to a private yacht, sipping a margarita and getting a tan.
I tried on the 2, which fit just right, so this is TTS.
I really liked this, but it's not practical for me unless I can get myself out to the beach this summer. It's rather short (several inches above my knee) and reminiscent of a swimsuit cover-up. It's definitely a dress though - there's a slip. I even like the huge sleeves and I'm not usually a fan.
If I come up with vacation plans, I'll have to have this, along with a big floppy hat, oversize sunglasses, strappy wedges, and a drink in my hand.

by Amerz Awesome color but 2 size smaller than normal...
was shopping for a dress for my husband's graduate school graduation... couldn't resist trying this on. Bought the teal one... the black one was... not totally stunning.
The fit was definitely NOT TTS. I'm usually an 8-10 and ended up with a 6. The 8 was too large at the bust and the sleeves and overall looked like there was too much fabric. Because of this, I tried on the 6... which ended up being quite formfitting.
The waist line falls more like an empire waist. because of the elasticity of the waistline, it can fall lower but not much.
The length hits right above the knee. I think it's the perfect length.. not too short or too long.
So for someone who likes lowwaisted cuts... this definitely will not be the dress.
Recommendation for Fit:
I think this dress would be great for someone who is pear shaped. The sleeves add a lot of width at the shoulders, which will make a pear shaped body look more hourglass.
I think this dress needed a belt. I couldn't decide which one fit better - this cooper or a plain brown one. But between a thick and thin belt, I thought that the skinnier belt suited better. It doesn't take as much away from the dress. Also, keep in mind the belt definitely makes this dress even more an empire waist.
Overall (style, look, materials...):
I would say the material isn't as lavishing as I would have hoped. If this dress was silk, it definitely would be more worth the money. One of my coworkers said that the black looked "less cheap". I agree. The black definitely looked good as well but, with my black hair, I had to go with the blue.... otherwise I'd look like i was going to a funeral! This Teal Blue is definitely IN!! :) Totally love this color now.
The design is quite lovely on all the hems: the sleeves, the collar and the bottom the dress. The black dress definitely covers up and downplays the details on the hems of this dress.
Lastly.. the way the sleeves are built, the slip helps cover up any extra skin that one may not want to show. The sleeves give a lot of air :) and the slip covers up just perfectly. There are sew-in snaps with a bands on both side to hold in the slip to the dress.
CAUTION BEFORE TRYING: Be sure to separate the slip and the dress before wearing! It gets complicated when you try to wear it all at once. Unfortunately the slip straps are not adjustable.... so you'll have to settle with what you have.

I ordered this online in Black in sizes 12 and 14 (my usual size) since I wasn't sure if this ran oversized. While waiting for my package to arrive, I found a size 12 in a store and tried it on, but the slip didn't fit so I didn't try on the actual dress itself. When the dresses arrived, I tried on the size 12 dress with the size 14 slip. The size 12 dress fit me pretty much, but the 14 fits better. As for the slip, it definitely didn't fit me in the 12, but fits me fine in the size 14 and I happen to be busty. The waistline is on the high side, a little annoying but not too bad. This dress looks great belted and that also helps with the high waistline, but it also looks okay without a belt (but looks better with a belt). I'm 5'6" and this dress is knee length on me in both the 12 and 14 (I'm not sure why this dress was so short on another reviewer here who is shorter than I am; I guess the smaller the size, the shorter the dress, because this is definitely knee length on me). I also happen to like the sleeves, they're great for hot weather and also a nice change from all the sleeveless dresses out there when you want some arm coverage.
