These are very cool jeans...I ordered them hoping that I would not like them because they are so expensive. But I do love them, and can't wait to wear them. The fit is true to size for me. I ordered two sizes and kept my regular size. The only thing that bugs me is that the front pockets are faced with white fabric, and if you put your hand in your pocket, the white facing sticks out (see picture) when you take your hand out. At this price, I don't think that should happen. Details, details.

After seeing this pair of jeans online I was excited to find them in my local store. This style could not be less flattering on my body type. First of all, I am usually a size 29 in jeans. I couldn't even squeeze into the 30, they seem to run a few sizes small. I am only 5'3" with an athletic build but these looked very dowdy on my body. I was so disappointed. I was willing to pay for a great pair of denim if they looked like they did on the catalog model. I think very slender girls would look great in this style. Not for me.

Where to begin, where to begin...
I had an existential crisis about buying these. I ended up pulling the trigger, and blaming it on kismet. (I called my closest Anthro store and found out they do not carry these ...but they happened to have ONE pair someone returned from an online purchase, and the size happened to be one that just might fit me.)
Before I went to the local Anthro though I DID shop around online to see if there was anything similar on the market to these at a lower price point...there wasn't.
And then when I got to the mall after I tried these on and fell in love I pragmatically (and reluctantly) put them on hold and proceeded to go around to every store I could think of, describing what I was on the hunt for. Their responses "Nope, we have nothing like that, you know where you might want to look? Anthropologie." Haha. Duh. (BTW, I went to every store from Madewell to Michael Kors to BCBG to Nordstrom....you name it). It was then and only then I decided to go ahead and earn 300+ AMEX Delta SkyMiles by getting these...
OK, so on to the details...
You will LOVE these jeans, IF...
1. You are relatively tall and do NOT - I repeat, do NOT - have hips.
I cannot see someone under 5'7" liking these at all. The pant bottoms are gargantuan. My darling, adorable petite sisters will be swallowed alive in these (think Cousin "It" from the Monsters.)
I am 5'8" and normally wear a 4. The pair of these that were returned were a 29; normally I get a 28 in most Anthro jean brands. These are VERY slouchy on me, but I like that look for THIS type of pant. If you want them TTS, order your normal size (again, if you are straight through the hips). If you want the slouchy look, go up one size.
2. You need to make sure you will be dressing for YOU and not for what men (straight men, at any rate) like if you're wearing these. (These don't exactly show off your assets - they aren't designed to.) But boy oh boy, they are comfortable. I could sleep in these, and for the price I probably will. Note: You CAN glam these up with a fitted shirt and a pair of stilettos, but again, these are not gonna have men hanging from the rafters.
3. You are willing to part with a decent amount of money. I never thought I would spend this much on jeans. Maybe to some people this is a drop in the bucket (can one of you please adopt me???), BUT I have heard great things about the quality of of this brand, so here's to hoping they will be able to withstand me wearing them for the next 200 days straight.
Bottom line: if you're looking for comfortable, relaxed jeans and you can stomach the sticker price, I would go for it. These are the PERFECT weight for Summer evenings, and I actually think they will look adorable in the Winter months with the RIGHT kind of boot, too. I haven't seen anything like them, and as noted above, I did some extensive research. I hope this helps a little. : )
