What a horrendous disappointment! My four year old was delighted to get these for Christmas. She proceeded to color until the tips were gone and the pencil needed sharpening. And sharpening we did... and we sharpened and we sharpened and we sharpened.... NO MORE LEAD! I then looked at the bottom of the pencil and saw that there was no lead on that side either, but rather just dot made with a marker the same color as the supposed pencil just to simulate the lead color! I took them back to the store and three SA came over to look at them because they too could not believe that Anthropologie would carry such a shoddy item. So, do NOT purchase if you actually want to USE these crayons for their intended purposed. The only thing there are good for are as props for a play or TV set.

I love this ridiculously silly pencil set. It makes me so happy. It caught my eye in the store because it was so unique. I'm currently doing a lot of writing for my dissertation and thought this set would make a lovely "grad student bouquet." (see photo)

First of all, these things are HUGE. While I wasn't anticipating anyone using these to take notes during a college lecture, I thought they would at least be fun to doodle with while watching TV or something. But they are quite large and bulky and awkward. IF you want to use them as pure decoration, I think they're cute and playful enough. But you'd have to be the size of big foot to actually use them.
