Spliced Landscape Collage, 2010
Still life canvases circa 1930 and have been sliced into strips and reassembled into an entirely new work of art. The same can be said for the sturdy frame surrounding it, as well. A one of a kind piece, by Leslie Oschmann for Swarm.
Swarm is the Amsterdam design studio of Rochester, NY native and former Anthropologie visual director Leslie Oschmann. Each bespoke item bearing the Swarm name - from furniture to décor to women's accessories - reuses something old like a swatch of canvas from a 19th century oil painting, a pre-WWII school desk chair, or a midcentury Danish sideboard.
