Skeleton Trees, 2002
Acclaimed photographer Donna DeMari captured the bare, late winter trees in the forest near her Berkshires home to splendid, ethereal effect. Signed by DeMari, this print is a personal joy to her, as she snapped the photo while walking with her beloved Labradors.
Donna DeMari is an American-born photographer who began her career in Milan, Italy. Self-taught, she bought her first camera at the age of eighteen, after signing up for a photojournalism course in college. Subsequently, she spent 15 years living between Paris, Milan and London, working for such prestigious magazines as Italian, Australian, German and British Vogue, French Marie Claire, British Elle, British Bride's and L'Officiel, among others. DeMari was a featured artist on the Anthropologist in June 2010, exploring the depths of loss and the healing power of recollection in a moving photographic tribute to the life and passing of her two beloved Labrador retrievers, Luke and Forrest.
