    Perfection…and, yes, size down.
This dress fit me like a glove. I'm not alone, either - check out the rave reviews posted by women of all ages, shapes and sizes! I am 5'4", 125 pounds, 34D, very short-waisted and athletic but curvy. I am normally a size 6, but finally settled on the size 4 regular after trying the 6P. It hits about 2-3 inches below my knees, which is both flattering and a pleasant alternative to my other dresses, which are either mini or full-length. The smaller size just feels better and I think the closer fit helps the lace detail pop a bit more. The nude colored slip/lining also alleviated any modesty issues I had with respect to the "peekaboo" detailing throughout the bodice. It might look like you're showing a lot of skin, but it certainly doesn't feel like it once you're wearing it. It's classy and it's sexy, which is usually more than you can ask of a dress at this price point. Bonus: my flesh-colored bra is virtually undetectable, which is key given my cup size and the fact that I have 2 young kids.

    Gorgeous Dress, Worth Every Penny
This dress is the perfect blend of classic and sexy. The perfect date night dress or special occasion dress. It is extremely flattering. At first I was concerned that the material was sheer and that it would be inappropriate to wear to a wedding (as a guest). But that is not the case. I happened to find it in our local store, as I wait for my online purchase to arrive, and was lucky enough to be able to try on the size I ordered. There is a neutral colored slip beneath the black lace so the material is not sheer at all. Instead it appears elegant. I am so in love with this dress and honestly haven't been so excited about a clothing item in quite some time. For size reference, I am 5'5" and am small boned. I have been working out a ton though lately and have more muscle tone than I used to. The size 0 fit me perfectly. I highly recommend it!

    Beautiful Special Occassion Dress
I wasn't sure about ordering this to wear to a fall wedding but I'm so happy I did. The fabric on the bodice is substantial and holds you in, but gives the look of "delicateness" with the lace. I also wasn't sure about ordering down a size, but I'm glad I did. It gives the dress a sexier fit. I'm usually a 4 and ordered the 2P for better length. I'm 5'2", 34d and go between 120-125 lbs. as a reference.

    Cute but not super flattering
This is a dress I never would have given a second look. However, with so many good reviews I decided to give it a go. Sadly it arrived without the slip that so many said it has and it was super wrinkled and 'used' looking?? ...odd. But I had the perfect slip to pair it with and I loved it despite it's sad arrival. I am 5ft 7in and 150lbs and the small fit great but is big- thats that look though (I am normally a small in dresses). I could probably size down to a XS. If you have large upper arms, you might have trouble. If they are average to small, you will be fine. I personally do not think that this dress is super flattering, however, it's not NOT flattering either. It does look good with a belt but you have to watch the pockets like other reviewers have said. The fabric is light and flow-y and so this dress will be great for spring as well as winter (when paired with tights). It's just so comfortable! It's like wearing your flannel sheets, but in a good way.

    Beautiful soft and flowy
this is an amazing dress! very soft and airy. I was concerned because ithe description said "flannel", which is not the traditional flannel. This dress is so soft and light, it can be an all season dress, based on where you live. I'm in CA, so this dress is perfect!!! for reference I ordered the P M and I'm 5.2 135 lbs.

    Love it (unexpectedly)!
I didn't think this dress would work for me--I thought it might make me look big because it doesn't have a defined waist. But, I loooooooooooove it! It doesn't make me look big at all. It's great for work or home. It's really comfortable. If you really want a defined waist you can add a belt. It's really the perfect dress. I did have to size down from my usual size though.

    Unexpectedly Awesome!
I never gravitate towards navy or even blue, and I usually don't like any kind of asymmetrical hemline on a dress or skirt, but I grabbed this and gave it a try. It is SUPER flattering and unusual yet versatile. I'm 140 pounds, 5'8, and curvy on the bottom with a TINY ribcage (I wear a 32 or even a 30 C bra), yet in pants/jeans I'm usually a 28 or 29. I grabbed a 0 regular off the rack (the only other sizes were too big) thinking it would never fit as I'm usually always a 4 in anthro dresses, and though snug, with some seduction, the side zipper made it up and it fit perfectly! The quality is good, it DOES NOT cling to fat butts or lumps and bumps, and sits perfectly on my curvy hips--super slimming. There is a lining on the bottom half which is always appreciated, and the pockets are perfectly placed and add detail and some texture. I'm super pumped with this dress, YES!

    Oh, yes!
I absolutely adore this dress. It flows, the colors are beautiful (and true to what you see on the screen) and are super flattering. It zips up the side, so there's no actual "wrapping" of the dress, but it doesn't matter. It has pockets! I love dresses with pockets! I sing the praises of dresses with pockets! (okay, I'm done now, sorry). The pockets are squared (if you zoom in on the dress, you can see it) I tried my normal size 6 and it fits well, although I will warn people with my size chest or larger (36DD), it does seem to enhance your chest even more, although it doesn't look bad, but it makes the girls that much more obvious. The material felt good against my skin and the length was also really nice - it'll be perfect with some open-toed sandals. (note: the blue you see around the waist is a belt - it doesn't come with one) I purchased it with my birthday discount and I"m extremely happy with it.

    Amazing, just amazing!!!
I think the review title says it all--this dress is perhaps the most amazing garment I have ever purchased. I have always hated (hated!!) the asymmetric hemline, but after trying this dress on, I couldn't get it out of my mind. I caved, and there now sits a dress with an asymmetric hemline in my closet. I wore it several times while on vacation and cannot wait to wear it again once spring hits. It runs large. I am 5'8" and hourglass-shaped (39-27-39) with a small ribcage and large bust. It is very difficult to find dresses that fit well. I ended up buying a size 6 and found it quite loose while wearing. Honestly I could have purchased a size 4. Maeve is brilliant this season--I think I have bought three Maeve dresses this season alone--and I am not a big shopper.

    Don't hesitate!
I bought this dress for a special event and absolutely love it. It's flattering, chic, comfortable, and very unique. I also like how versatile it is-- it can be dressed up with heels (which looks romantic and sexy) or dressed down with tights and boots (which looks edgy). I'm on the shorter side (5' 2" and 120 lbs) and usually wear a 4 in pants and XS in tops. Because so many of the reviews from my petite comrades said this dress was overwhelming on a small frame I bought it in a petite 0. It fits perfectly, so I would definitely size down. I think it's worth sharing that, though I wasn't bothered by it, the yellow in the website pictures is closer to a mild lime green in person. I still think it's lovely but could see how someone looking for something on the more classic side wouldn't be into it.

    Gorgeous
The pictures do not do justice to this beautiful dress. I had ignored it online, but as soon as I saw it in person I decided to try it on, even though I suspected the shape would not work with my body. The butterfly/moth pattern is unusual and distinctive. The yellow has more green than one sees in the pictures while the cream has a distinct mint undertone, so the contrast of colors is less harsh than it might appear. The fabric, though light, has enough weight to swing, and the split pointed hems on the sleeves makes them float. The seam just beneath the shoulder blades gives the back of the dress a nice line. I agree with earlier reviewers that the dress is tight across the chest, so bustier ladies might want to size up. Also, I could not get the button at the neck out of its tiny loop on either dress I tried; luckily, the neckline is wide enough that I could slide my head through. (Is this just a show button, there only to allow the slit down the top of the back?) Ultimately, I passed on this dress, because the shape--while more flattering than I thought it would be--is a little youthful for me. Younger customers should try it on!

    Beautiful Silk Dress from Leifsdottir
I'm usually between an 8 & a 10, but I was happy with the 8P for this dress. The dress falls above the knee on me just as the models in the pictures. The lining has a crocheted lace on the edge which, with the silk, adds to the quality. The bell sleeves end in two points instead of one so I'm thinking I might tie them together if I wear this to work. I wear a 36C bra and I do have to be careful because the front of the dress has a tendency to pull up so that the dress ends up longer in the back. Sizing up might have alleviated this issue but the 10P was sold out at my store as well as online. The dress skims the body so it's very flattering without looking like a tent. Very versatile & it will be a great dress from fall to spring in Houston.

    Perfect!
I was looking for a dress for an upcoming wedding and needed something that would be conservative enough for church but would also go with boots for the reception (no heels on cobblestone floors). I picked out several Anthro dresses in the store, and grabbed this one to try on on a whim. After trying on about seven dresses, this is the one I went home with. It's got slightly thicker material, which is nice for unpredictable Texas early spring, and feels substantial but not heavy. It does run slightly large- I'm typically a medium pretty much everywhere I shop, but had to size down for this (for reference I'm 5'8" and about 150 lbs; the lady at the shop said this brand tends to run large). The colors are a little brighter than the picture shows, particularly the orange/pinkish blooms. It also has pockets- ones that are big enough to fit my hands all the way in. After I go to this wedding, I'll have a great dress for dressier work days and nights out when it's a little colder outside.

    Beautiful classy dress
Saw this dress online and wanted it. It was in stock at my local anthropologist store so went in to see it. It was more beautiful in person. Color was bright and the fit is perfect. Hid a little extra padding in the hips. Made me look and feel beautiful.

    Beautiful dress
When I ordered this online during the dress sale event, I thought, in the back of my mind, that I would end up returning this dress...but I wanted to take a chance in ordering it since it lokos to be so beautiful! Per the recommendations from past reviewers, I ordered a size Small (5.2", 34C, 140 lbs.). The small fit perfectly - the material has some give to it, so even if I were heavier, the small still would have fit just fine. Since I am shorter than the model, the seam across the waist hits lower on me, which is perfect - I don't like the way the seam across the waist hits on the model, which is why I thought I would have to return this. The dress also falls to just a little bit above me knees. The material is a little heavier than a regular cotton dress...feels like it is almost quilted...but I don't feel like it will be an issue in the summer time. I live in Texas, and I still think this will be a great dress year round!

    Love this dress!
I was searching for a dress to wear to a wedding. I saw this dress on the rack and didn't think it would look good on me because of the thick material and pattern so I didn't bother trying it on. While I was trying on other dresses in the dressing room, I explained to the salesperson that none of the dresses I tried on were working out. She pulled some dresses and this dress was one of them. I was skeptical at first, but once I had it on I loved it. The cut is flattering and the thick material is a little more forgiving if you're trying to hide a few extra pounds. Additionally, the design of the dress helps cinch everything in. The hidden pockets are an added bonus. The design at the waist adds a whimsical touch. I do agree with other reviewers regarding the zipper. The zipper doesn't go far enough down if you're trying to step into the dress and have any hips. Other than the zipper issue, the dress is perfect. I'm so glad the salesperson pulled it for me because I would have never chosen it for myself. Dress was true to size. I'm 5'1 and 125 lbs with a small bust.

Love this Dress - Well Made!
I picked up this dress in size 8 and it fits so nice, well made compared to other Anthro dresses I have observed over the past year or so. The fabric is nice medium weight cotton blend twill and holds its shape, a plus it is lined and true to size based on other Anthro dresses of the past that were a size 8 - for my frame. I do find the front is a little low and the crack of my chest shows, so for me, for work, I will need to wear a think navy blue cami. Another plus is the pockets and they are positioned in the right place for me. The attached belt panel is a nice varied shades of pink, purple and orange stripes which would be a nice compliment to a colored shoe in those shades. I normally don't buy full prices Anthro clothes for the next season before the season starts, but with the dress promo and the fact this dress is well made and compared to other priced dresses elsewhere this was a win win purchase. I am 34DD chest, 140 pounds and 5'4 inches in height and the 8 fit perfectly. the length on me was about the length on the model but not so shortI would feel uncomfortable for work wear.

    Beautiful, great quality dress..with pockets!!!
adorable, lined dress that fits true to size. as some of the other reviewers have noted, it is a little tricky to get it over your hips but, once on, it fit perfectly. very flattering. Love the detail to the waist and pockets are always a nice touch. I have large bust and hourglass figure and the 4 fit great...thought about how the 2 might fit as the size 4 a little big in the waist but am happy overall with the sizing. Pretty snug in the bust so the 2 would probably have me too busty
