    Perfection…and, yes, size down.
This dress fit me like a glove. I'm not alone, either - check out the rave reviews posted by women of all ages, shapes and sizes! I am 5'4", 125 pounds, 34D, very short-waisted and athletic but curvy. I am normally a size 6, but finally settled on the size 4 regular after trying the 6P. It hits about 2-3 inches below my knees, which is both flattering and a pleasant alternative to my other dresses, which are either mini or full-length. The smaller size just feels better and I think the closer fit helps the lace detail pop a bit more. The nude colored slip/lining also alleviated any modesty issues I had with respect to the "peekaboo" detailing throughout the bodice. It might look like you're showing a lot of skin, but it certainly doesn't feel like it once you're wearing it. It's classy and it's sexy, which is usually more than you can ask of a dress at this price point. Bonus: my flesh-colored bra is virtually undetectable, which is key given my cup size and the fact that I have 2 young kids.

    True to size
I am 5 ft 2" and weigh around 103 lbs. I decided to try for a 0P according to the sizing chart. I would say that the measurements are true to size though that wasn't exactly a good thing for me. The waist and hips fit perfectly but because I'm small-chested (70B), there is substantial room at the chest and the dress looks a little wrinkled there :( This was quite upsetting for me since the pattern at the chest is one of the dress' unique features. The dress just covers my knee caps and will look really flattering if only my chest was a little fuller. Nonetheless, I will probably still keep it - that's what maximizers are for. :) The quality of the dress is good and there is a slight stretch to the skirt so climbing stairs/ getting out of car etc shouldn't a problem. The hooks in front do come off quite easily and I am quite sure there will be skirt wrinkles after sitting down for long.. I love the dress in ivory and plan to wear it on my wedding day for a casual reception.

    Conversation Topic
The work on this dress is out of this world. It was a conversation topic at dinner! One of the reason I always choose this cut is because I have a very short torso. The dress comes with a black dress. I choose to not wear it. I am in between two sizes 6-8. I have an “Athletic” shape. Tops I am an 8 and bottoms 6, so I bought both sizes, the 8 was loose and the 6 needed me to hold perfect posture. So be prepare to hold your head high! You’ll look prettier. The dress length of course fit me longer than the model – but nothing that a pair of nude high heel doesn't fix. The neckline will look just like in the picture... it didn't look flattering on me with the zipper all the way up. Which is just perfect paired up with tiny jewelry. What I didn't like (and you can’t see it very good in the picture) is that the above the shoulder there is a piece of fabric – same one from the back section – that in my opinion is too wide. The sleeves on me looked very puffy– I had to “shorten” those too. I am 5’5. 135, 34D, Short torso, Long legs, skinny shaped arms

    MAGNIFICENT!
I agonized long and hard before buying this dress. Am I glad I finally did! It's spectacular. Absolutely beautiful. My experience of the sizing is different from that of other reviewers: I'm 5'7, 135 pounds, measurements 38-30-38, and I bought an 8. It fits perfectly on top, and is a bit roomy in the waist and hips. According to the Size Chart, I should wear a 10. But that would've been way too big. I've also had this experience with Anthro skirts recently; 8's fit fine and are in fact even a little loose. Hope this helps others decide which size to buy. Again, this is a gorgeous dress.

First purchase from Anthro, live in Australia
I fell in love with this dress .. Not sure how I even came across it, maybe ad on Facebook but I knew I wanted it for my 30th wedding anniversary.. I had to wait as it was on back order. Our sizing is different in Australia, I was unsure whether to order the 2P or 4P. I went with the 4P .. It is a little large but comfortable..there is no give in this dress so you need room when you sit etc. I have 2 week to wait until I get to,wear it. Can't wait. I actually like it with the belt, it cinches my waist in. Didn't think I would like it with the belt but it works for me.

    A masterpiece!
Why, oh WHY did this have to arrive just in time for Christmas? LOL I saw this astonishing dress just after my Carismma Sheath dress, in black, arrived. At first I thought this version was too close, but irl, it's in a class of it's own. You can barely tell from the photo, but the fabric on the bodice and skirt are different. The top has tiny circles with dots of red. The placket is also a different pattern, but instead of the hot mess I expected, the whole thing works to make you look like the most stunning creature in the room. Very, very flattering on most body types, but I'd dare say especially on the hourglass girl. This is the dress I would wear to dinner, to weddings, to business meetings with a jacket, to tea, to lunch with the girls, where wouldn't I wear this? Fit is tts, much like the Carismma sheath. I pray that it doesn't sell out before I can get my hands on one! Or, maybe, just maybe, it will show up under the tree!

    Simply Gorgeous
I have admired this dress forever and when I received a birthday discount code I decided to give it a try. I am not disappointed. The dress is beautiful...a classic! It is also seasonless as I will be wearing it to a spring event with nude pumps. It is well-made and the pictures do not show the intricate details in the design and materials of the dress.

    Even better than I hoped!
I visited this dress many times on the website, hoping it would go on sale, but finally decided to bit the bullet and pay full price. Prior reviews listed its unique detail and surprises that made this dress a conversation piece (and why I love Anthropologie!) and it didn't disappoint! It is form fitting and sexy in a smart-girl way, but it also possesses an artistic/couture quality that renders it timeless. I am 5'6 and a 35" bust/128 lbs and went with the 4p, as I prefer the hem to hit me at or above the knee. The fabric has stretch, which allows it to fit to your body, not bulge and buckle as a stiff fabric would do. I also cut the belt loops and moved belt/ribbon down so it would hit my waist, as the petite waist was higher- no problem at all. I am SOOO happy I splurged and know this will be a 'go to' dress for years to come.

    Gorgeous, versatile dress.
I have been a long-time admirer of Anthropologie, but this is my first purchase. I love it so much, and can see myself wearing it to versatile occasions: a late summer wedding, a date on the boardwalk, the farmer's market, or even work with the right cardigan. The print is a bit more bold than what I usually wear, but the soft, earthy colours appeal to me. I'm a small/size 4 on top, and a 6 to 8 on bottoms. In dresses, I'm a 4 or 6. The hips on this dress are free, so I sized down to a 4. The sales clerk told me this dress was basically made for me (which was very sweet), but to be honestly I think it will be flattering on many shapes and sizes. I really love that the banding around the waist negates the need for a belt. My only wee concern is that the dress is polyester, and therefore won't breath as well as a natural fiber in the summer. However, I hope the flow of the skirt will still allow this to be comfortable on even the hottest day.

    Flattering + Gorgeous gown
I would have never, in a million years, have picked this dress for myself. I was desperately trying on every dress in the store, looking for something to wear to my brothers wedding. This was last on the hook, and once I tried it on, my jaw dropped at what I saw in the mirror. The fit is impeccable (once I went up a size) and I looked long, lean, and lovely. Fit info: I'm normally a size 4 at Anthro. Size 34C bra. This was snug in the boobie area and because I can't really wear a normal bra with this one, I went up to a size 6 in this dress so I can wear some of those stick on boobie lifter things or a strapless bra giving me some lift to my 2 kid having body. The waist still fits nicely even though now there is a bit of give in the top.

    Easy, flattering dress
I had my eye on this after seeing it in the catalog and tried it on as soon as it came to my store. It is just what it looks like--an easy, comfy, flattering dress. The shape is unusual enough to make it interesting and the pattern is cute. I thought I would like the check/windowpane pattern more from the pictures, but I found the chevron stripe pattern more flattering on. It does run quite big, so I sized down (I am usually an 8/10 and got a small). There is more than enough room and the style is very forgiving. It is also fully lined which further eliminates any clinginess and gives the fabric a beautiful drape. I will get a lot of wear out of this--with leggings and boots in fall/winter and sandals in summer. It is also a little longer than I thought it would be, which is a nice surprise since a lot of Anthro's styles recently have been quite short on me (I'm 5'7). This hits at the perfect spot for a longer tunic and won't be too short with bare legs in summer. Overall, love it! (FD: I'm an employee of URBN, Inc.)

Great dress even if you're tall
I tried on both patterns of these dresses. I first tried on the blue window pane print my usual size Small and I loved it but it was short on me--much like in the picture of the model. I am 5' 9" and leggy rather than long torso. I later went back and looked at the gray chevron stripe. The dress looked longer and it WAS--by a few inches (I held the dresses up to one another). This may be just the differences in fabric but it worked for me. The gray chevron pattern is long enough for me to wear as a dress. The hem comes just above my knees. I did need to go down to a size XS. The size small just hung on me and didn't cling anywhere. The dress needs to grab hold at the hip or somewhere to blouse out a bit and look stylish and off-set the roomy top. Really soft, really comfortable. Didn't think my husband would go for it. I thought he would say it was too baggy but he loved it. Thought the pattern was modern and hip.

Really cute but runs really large
I saw this dress online, really wanted it, but ended up trying it on and passing. I am very petite and this dress was just too large for me. (I am tiny; 5'2, 105 lb.) Regardless, I would recommend this dress. The cut is really unique and the quality is very good (I really liked the weight of this dress- it is not too flimsy and it drapes well.) I think it would be very flattering for many body types and could be a versatile piece.

    Can't wait to wear!
Loved this from the moment I saw it. I am slender, but curvy. I took a medium and a small in the dressing room with me as I can easily be either size. I tend to try on the larger size first, but when I held it up, it looked way too wide so I skipped it and went for the small. It fit me just like the model. So unlike many of the other reviews, I think this runs slightly large. From the front, the waist tucks in and creates a nice silhouette, but from the back, it's a little more "bag" like. Maybe it's not the most flattering in the world from the back, but I don't mind it and I wear what I like and don't think about what others might say. It felt very comfortable. It is on the shorter side, but I can still pull it off for my office job. Super cute for summer, office to dinner, etc. Also will be perfect to throw on for errands or anything else on the weekend. I can already tell this will be a popular dress for me this summer! I highly recommend it!

    Super cute LBD
purchased this dress in size L, and the fit is pretty generous. I never thought i could actually fit into dresses of this brand! ha! anyway, the fabric is low maintenance, which i like. it has pockets and a word of caution, it is short. so beware tall ladies. i am so glad i got a regular L and not an LP and i'm only 5'3.5". for reference i generally wear a size 14. measurements are 42-32-42 and this dress fit great, have worn it a few times and received my fair share of complements. it lends itself to an infinite selection of accessories, which makes this dress so versatile. My only issue with the dress is that it forms a weird poof on the back. but i can overlook that because it's so cute from the front! measurements of L from underarm to underarm is 24". from underarm to hem 24.5"

    Runs Large
There is nothing I do not like about this dress except is runs large. I ordered my usual Medium from the website and found it was VERY roomy. As I have a harder to fit larger bust on a small frame, I did not exchange for the size down, because I want to try on in store first. The fabric is lovely with a nice matte finish, the lacy details are well constructed and the shape is a flattering fit-and-flare. I simply found the sizing off.
