This dress fit me like a glove. I'm not alone, either - check out the rave reviews posted by women of all ages, shapes and sizes!
I am 5'4", 125 pounds, 34D, very short-waisted and athletic but curvy. I am normally a size 6, but finally settled on the size 4 regular after trying the 6P. It hits about 2-3 inches below my knees, which is both flattering and a pleasant alternative to my other dresses, which are either mini or full-length. The smaller size just feels better and I think the closer fit helps the lace detail pop a bit more.
The nude colored slip/lining also alleviated any modesty issues I had with respect to the "peekaboo" detailing throughout the bodice. It might look like you're showing a lot of skin, but it certainly doesn't feel like it once you're wearing it. It's classy and it's sexy, which is usually more than you can ask of a dress at this price point. Bonus: my flesh-colored bra is virtually undetectable, which is key given my cup size and the fact that I have 2 young kids.

Beautiful dress! I ordered the navy and am so pleased with the dress. Very feminine and very flattering!

I would get married in this dress.
I went into my local Anthro store with my sister looking for something else, but saw this dress and had to "just try it on" in white. I'm normally a size 6, but there was only a 4 available in the store. I wasn't planning on purchasing, but once it was on, I didn't want to take it off. I happily paid full price, and my sister and I continued to gush about this dress the entire 20 minute drive home from the store. This dress is GORGEOUS. Even though you're completely covered, it's so figure-flattering and sexy. Definitely a head-turner. I've worn this twice and received many compliments from friends and strangers. It is expensive, but the quality is so good that I see it as an investment. It does run a bit big, so if you're in between sizes, size down. I'm sure a size 6 (if I had been patient enough to wait) would have been fine, but I liked the extra "va-va-voom" I got with the 4. I love the dress in white and am tempted to get it in another color as well!
For reference, I am 5'5", 34C, and usually a size 6.
Why, oh WHY did this have to arrive just in time for Christmas? LOL I saw this astonishing dress just after my Carismma Sheath dress, in black, arrived. At first I thought this version was too close, but irl, it's in a class of it's own. You can barely tell from the photo, but the fabric on the bodice and skirt are different. The top has tiny circles with dots of red. The placket is also a different pattern, but instead of the hot mess I expected, the whole thing works to make you look like the most stunning creature in the room. Very, very flattering on most body types, but I'd dare say especially on the hourglass girl. This is the dress I would wear to dinner, to weddings, to business meetings with a jacket, to tea, to lunch with the girls, where wouldn't I wear this? Fit is tts, much like the Carismma sheath. I pray that it doesn't sell out before I can get my hands on one! Or, maybe, just maybe, it will show up under the tree!

Vintage, and modern at the same time. LOVE!!
I cannot say enough good things about this dress! I absolutely love it!
Fit is amazing, and so comfortable. Love how you can use the sash or not as well, really changes the look.
I love the length as well. I usually like to have my knees covered up but most dresses end up being too long or they just dont give you that girly feeling. This dress nails it!
One of my most favorite purchase's from Anthropology.
Very classic and timeless dress.

Even better than I hoped!
I visited this dress many times on the website, hoping it would go on sale, but finally decided to bit the bullet and pay full price. Prior reviews listed its unique detail and surprises that made this dress a conversation piece (and why I love Anthropologie!) and it didn't disappoint! It is form fitting and sexy in a smart-girl way, but it also possesses an artistic/couture quality that renders it timeless. I am 5'6 and a 35" bust/128 lbs and went with the 4p, as I prefer the hem to hit me at or above the knee. The fabric has stretch, which allows it to fit to your body, not bulge and buckle as a stiff fabric would do. I also cut the belt loops and moved belt/ribbon down so it would hit my waist, as the petite waist was higher- no problem at all. I am SOOO happy I splurged and know this will be a 'go to' dress for years to come.
I agree with the positive comments of other reviewers. This dress is soft, comfortable, and pleasantly flattering. I like the high/low hem; the "high" part is about 4 inches above my knees. The longest part is mid-calf. The hemline is pretty much as shown on the model. To state the obvious, the key is to find the right size. For reference I am just under 5'9" and 148 lbs. I usually wear a medium, but found that the small actually had a better drape to it on me. A sales associate told me that the dress did tend to run a bit big. The sleeves were a little snug when rolled up, but not when rolled down. Do check to be sure that where the buttons are on the sleeves there is also a corresponding loop. I tried on one dress where a loop was missing. Also, this may be just me, but I paid attention to the symmetry of the pattern, particularly the collar and bodice. I was not so concerned about the rest of the dress, recognizing there will always be some asymmetry and that is actually part of the charm. This is one dress that I feel is best tried on in person. I tried on several before finding "the one".

Great cozy dress!
I love this dress. I'm an employee at Anthropologie and I bought this dress the minute we got it in stock. I tried it on in a Large, which I typically wear a Large, unless something runs smaller then I will size up to an XL. I will say after finally wearing it the other day I wish I tried on the Medium. There is a lot of fabric on this dress on the bottom, and I think the Medium would've fit my upper body a little better. But oh well, I still think the large is fine, just a little extra loose. I wore it with the sleeves unrolled, and I buttoned it all the way up (except for the top button) and layered three different necklaces with it just to spice it up a bit. Also I paired with it tan colored booties and my black leather jacket. It's a great transitional piece from Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer. I feel like the material is super light weight to be able to wear in the warmer months with flats or super strappy flat sandals would be cute too. If you are thinking of getting this dress I highly recommend it. It does fit more true to size, unless you have a smaller bust then you could go one size down if you want a slightly tighter fit in the upper body area.

In LOVE with this dress!!
I ordered this dress online in my normal size large. As soon as I pulled it from the package I knew it was going to be too big and it was VERY loose. So on a trip into Dallas I exchanged it for a medium, which fit perfectly! It was still nice and flowy! I know some people were saying this dress could be tight in the bust, but it wasn't for me. My bust measures 40" around. So I think the trick is to buy the dress to fit your bust. For reference, I typically wear a size 12, 158lbs, and 5'6".
I'm tall with an ample chest and wide hips (hourglass type) -- so I bought this in an XL because I thought I would need the room and the length. However, there is a lot of stretch to this dress -- so I think I could have gotten away with a L. I'm not returning it though -- the larger size still works, and the stretch in the chest and hip areas makes it even more comfortable. The length is perfect -- not short for those of us with long legs. Also, it is lightly lined inside the dress to the knees. The dress is extremely comfortable and stylish. I love the design -- its JUST as it appears in the picture.

I saw this dress on the mannequin and had to try it on! So I just grabbed the first small and it just fell perfectly on my body. It ends a bit above the ankle, but I can deal with that. The only thing I would suggest to someone wanting to buy this dress is buy it in store!! Not online as each dress is a different pattern. Of course they chose the perfect pattern online, but the dress I tried on had majority pink at the top, so I swapped it for a pattern I loved! The dress looks much better in person too.

If you dig the dress when you see it, you will love it on. I'm convinced.
It's hella soft and so, so comfortable, it's flattering, and it has pockets! It's my dream maxi.
I'm 5'9 and usually wear a size 12, so I was worried the large might be snug or short, but it is neither. It's so stretchy that it forgives and flatters and did I already say comfortable??
I could curl up in one of those weird circle chairs and nap in it with no blanket! Or I could put on one of them vests like bangs o'quinn in the photo and be the loveliest girl at the next oyster roast. Basically this dress is my life now. Praise Dress.
Gotta say I didn't recognize this online when I went looking to write a review. I almost passed it up in the store, as well, but it was facing the dressing room, I loved the "tribal" influence, and on a whim grabbed it "just to see". Big surprise how unique and flattering this is. On me it's a dress (5'1" 115 32DD) took the PXS/S and I plan to wear it that way with tights and booties. The front hit just above my knee with a slightly longer back. The top is not as loose on me as on the model and the bottom curves in slightly keeping it from being totally straight and shapeless. Will look great with the long two toned horn earrrings I bought at Athro last summer. Can't imagine it with boyfriend jeans, although it would probably be fine with skinnies. Although I usually look best in fit and flair, as I'm petite, but hourglass, I'm thrilled with this new look for me. Plan to wear it year 'round.

So happy I purchsed this dress
Received it this morning and so happy with it. True to size, looks great with tights and knee high boots, lovely and soft There are a few designers I like at Anthro...and this is one of them. Make this a must buy.

Another winner by Tracy Reese!
I wasn't sure about this tunic/dress when I saw it online, but in person the shading and design is so unique and eye-catching, you find yourself picking it up! The super soft fabric blend has spandex which makes this dress feel so good on as well. Because of the reviews I originally got a small thinking that as a petite person the dress would be overwhelming. But, I found the sleeves were super tight, so I sized back to my usual medium, and the dress fits very nicely. I say dress, because at 5'3 the front is only slightly above the knees. I also have good skimming coverage over my chest and hips, unlike the smaller size which was too exact. Feels like I'm wearing a big sweatshirt, except it looks so chic! Pair with a low ankle bootie and leggings or bare legs in warmer areas.
The pictures do not do justice to this beautiful dress. I had ignored it online, but as soon as I saw it in person I decided to try it on, even though I suspected the shape would not work with my body. The butterfly/moth pattern is unusual and distinctive. The yellow has more green than one sees in the pictures while the cream has a distinct mint undertone, so the contrast of colors is less harsh than it might appear. The fabric, though light, has enough weight to swing, and the split pointed hems on the sleeves makes them float. The seam just beneath the shoulder blades gives the back of the dress a nice line. I agree with earlier reviewers that the dress is tight across the chest, so bustier ladies might want to size up. Also, I could not get the button at the neck out of its tiny loop on either dress I tried; luckily, the neckline is wide enough that I could slide my head through. (Is this just a show button, there only to allow the slit down the top of the back?) Ultimately, I passed on this dress, because the shape--while more flattering than I thought it would be--is a little youthful for me. Younger customers should try it on!

I NEVER write reviews. Of all the purchases I have made from Anthro, this one deserves a review. I went into the store to look for a different dress and grabbed this on a whim. SO glad that I did. I falls nicely on the body and drapes your curves without showing the unattractive-bulges. I was on the edge because of the price tag, but I am glad that I brought it home. It is also very versatile. I plan on wearing it loose as the picture, and maybe cinching the waist with a skinny belt and a pair of nude pumps. When it's chilly, I can make it into a tunic and wear it with skinny jeans or leggings. Don't hesitate on buying this dress, it's worth every penny. I can't wait to wear it!

Tried this dress on today, I think it will be grew for spring into early summer, but even now it's great as a transitional dress. The silk is beautiful, and the weight of multiple layers makes it appropriate for this time of year and also keeps or slightly more modest, and therefore more flattering for is curvy girls, and certainly does not look like a tent on. It falls so beautifully on the body! The short legnth is balanced out so perfectly by the high neckline and long sleeves. It's so amazingly 1970s boho. Can't wait to wear it.
I bought three different dresses on line--and this one was on the verge of being cut, but I bought it anyway. The pictures do NOT do this pretty dress justice. Every once in a while you find something that you absolutely love--for me, this was it. Can't believe I almost passed it up! It's slightly vintage--but NOT matronly at all. It's a beautiful print, fits at the TRUE waist and is flowy--but NOT poufy, just the right length and completely flattering. It's simply a homerun. I've tried it on with boleros/ fitted short red cardi/ chunky necklaces/ boots/ red heels with black tights/ red tights with black heels. In love. If you are busty or thick armed--you may want to size up. My usual size 6 was great (I'm a 36C)--but if I was bustier, I would've had to size up.

This floral dress is stunning in person. I fell in love with it the moment I tried it on... and every time I wear it, I receive loads of compliments. It's the perfect match of vintage and modern with the feminine shape and the vibrant print. I believe this dress runs true to size, but I would be mindful of the sleeves. The fabric is certainly forgiving, but the sleeves don't have much room. You can wear this on its own or belt it with an open cardigan. Both gorgeous looks. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous design but too expensive for the quality
I LOVE this dress and couldn't wait for it to arrive from backorder. The vintage style and fit feel so ladylike. In addition, the dress is super comfortable and I couldn't stop twirling around in it. I can imagine wearing it to a wedding, brunch, or to work in my classroom. Since the fabric is stretchy, it accommodates an hourglass figure well. Despite my height and a 34DD bust, the size 8 fit me perfectly.
However, even with a promotional code, I still found the dress to be overpriced. The material has me seriously debating how well the dress will hold up over time. Aside from the gorgeous design, it just doesn't have that Anthro quality I've come to expect. If the dress were half as much, I'd have no hesitation. As it is, I'm seriously debating returning it and crossing my fingers for a sale.
