This dress fit me like a glove. I'm not alone, either - check out the rave reviews posted by women of all ages, shapes and sizes!
I am 5'4", 125 pounds, 34D, very short-waisted and athletic but curvy. I am normally a size 6, but finally settled on the size 4 regular after trying the 6P. It hits about 2-3 inches below my knees, which is both flattering and a pleasant alternative to my other dresses, which are either mini or full-length. The smaller size just feels better and I think the closer fit helps the lace detail pop a bit more.
The nude colored slip/lining also alleviated any modesty issues I had with respect to the "peekaboo" detailing throughout the bodice. It might look like you're showing a lot of skin, but it certainly doesn't feel like it once you're wearing it. It's classy and it's sexy, which is usually more than you can ask of a dress at this price point. Bonus: my flesh-colored bra is virtually undetectable, which is key given my cup size and the fact that I have 2 young kids.

Made by the gods on Mt Olympus
I fell in love with this dress eons ago when it first showed up online and have been dreaming of it since. The lace detail, the nude underlay, the perfectly unique LBD-I was smitten! I received it as a gift for Christmas (!) and while I hate to disappoint anyone looking for a reason not to buy...it is even MORE beautiful in person.
I have the black color and it is complete perfection. As for sizing, I was wary about getting it right in an online order as I usually always need to try multiple sizes to compare. To extreme fortune and surprise it was spot on! Very TTS. I have another dress from Anthro in a size 4 but it is strapless, and I have broad shoulders which usually forces me to size up in tops. I read some of the other reviews that the dress is not as impressive if it wasn't a perfect fit, so I took a chance and asked for a 4. It fit like a glove. A dressed-to-kill glove.

This dress is just as beautiful in photos as it is in person. So unique and so flattering! I wore this dress for my engagement photoshoot and I can see myself wearing it for years to come! I got the 00 P and its perfect.
Ok, so obviously it's hard not to notice the monthly car-payment-like price of this dress, however, that being said... It. Is. Worth. Every. Penny. At least when that repo-man comes, you will look GOOD. Seriously. I'm 30 years old, 5'6", 150 pounds and I purchased the size 8. Never before in my 30 years on this Earth have I owned an article of clothing that fit this well. It's absolutely perfect! The dress itself is clearly stunning. Perfect black dress. The buttons are darling and let you choose your level or riske. The skirt is the perfect sexy, modern length. I feel like I'm over-using the word 'perfect' here, but no other word in the English language would apply quite as well. If you're thinking about purchasing this dress, do it. Don't think about it any longer. It's inconceivable that you could possibly, in any way, regret that decision. Start babysitting. Own that lemonade stand. Whatever you do... Buy this dress. It's... Perfect.

Chic and flattering LBD
I purchased this dress for a relative's wedding and ended up saving it for New Year's Eve. I purchased my correct size (size 8) and it fits like a glove ... a very, very sexy glove. This dress is heavy and thick which gives it a vintage feel and hides a little pouch you do not want seen. It is form fitting but remains classy and chic due to the longer length and long sleeves. It hit just below my knee and I am 5'3. This dress is flattering and worth the extra expense. The lace is fragile though - be careful wearing dangly jewelry or anything that can snag it. This is one I want to keep around for as long as possible! It is a stunner!

Elegant & Timeless
Absolutely beautiful dress. It hugs in all the right places giving you a beautiful silhouette. I never buy black dresses usually but the self design on it and the unique pattern on the sleeves gives it character and its perfect for work/work events/any event really. Highly recommended! Size down - I am usually a 4 but the 2P fits perfectly .
This dress is so cute on and very flattering. Love the neckline and the lace is a fun detail. I bought the moss and it's a beautiful, rich color. The wine looks a little more berry in person than the online pictures appear. I am usually a medium but sometimes a large in Anthro brands. I tried the small and medium in this dress. At first I thought the small looked best because the bottom part was a little less voluminous, but tried the medium because I have large shoulders and the small was a bit tight under the arms. Loved the medium. Voluminous in the lower half, but it has a nice nip in the middle that keeps it swingy instead of tent-like. I have a thinner torso and larger legs, so this line is very flattering for my legs. I also loved the length - it's longer than most dresses of this type, which I appreciated - minis are not my best look. Most flattering on small to medium breasted women. Great with tall boots, booties, leggings & flats. And it's REALLY soft - it feels like wearing a nightgown!

Wow! So warm, yet swingy, and lightweight.
I love this dress! If I didn’t know better, I’d think I’m wearing pajamas to the office. Seriously though, this is a high-quality piece. From the stitching to the design, fit and texture of the fabric, much effort went into executing this really comfortable tunic. The wine isn’t as vibrant in person as online, but it is still lovely and oh, sooooo comfortable. Did I mention comfortable? Lastly, it does run large. In tops and sweaters at Anthro, I usually wear an XL across the board (some L), but an XL in this dress would be just too much. I’m an athletic, but curvy build. I wear between a 12W and 14W with a 38D bust and the dress rocks on me in size L. As is, it is still shapely, but has a nice tunic feel. Wearing with tall black boots and wine tights. Work appropriate, but warm. Btw: If you want to utilize the pockets, use a seam ripper to open up access as they come stiched closed. Love the pockets, too! Buying the moss as soon as I can get my hands on it.

I'm 26 weeks pregnant and this is the perfect winter dress for me. It's soft, flowy, and still looks nice! The sleeves are a little tighter in my normal size XS, but still comfortable. I only wish the neckline was a bit lower. The higher neckline makes you look more flat chested since the bottom of the dress is so loose already.
I tried this on in a regular size zero, which was quite my mistake, as I am usually a regular size 4 and thought I had grabbed that size. I'd say this runs big, as I was able to zip up the size zero without an issues, though I would probably size up to purchase. For reference, I am 5'1' and 118 lbs and usually a 4P or SP. The dress fell a couple of inches above my knees, which I thought was flattering.
The shoulders fell a little off the shoulder for me- sleeves like this sometimes drive me crazy as I keep wanting to pull them up to cover my shoulders. The top portion of the dress has a leotard look to it, which I like.
As other reviewers have mentioned, it is a bit short-waisted. I thought the overall look was flattering, as the skirt has a bit of an A-line shape to it.
The fabric is soft and has a good weight to it. Overall, I definitely think it is worth the price tag.

great fall dress
i bought the two summer versions of this dress and i loved them, but the scoop neck is a little low and occasionally my bra shows. i bought this dress because everything else was great about the others.
and this one is close to perfect. the ballet scoop neck line looks so elegant, and not too low.
the skirt hits at the smallest part of my waist and falls nicely….not to straight, not to flowly.
hits above the knee on me (5'5), in the same place it hits the model.
and the skirt has all of the lovely deep colors pictured.
i also enjoy the stretch fabric. again, not too heavy but not too flowy.
i am smaller on top, larger on bottom. 34A, 27 waist, 37 hips, 5'5, 127 lbs. 0 fits me perfectly….
the arms are slightly tight when i put them on, but the fabric stretches and is comfortable.
my only complaint is that i cannot buy another in a different pattern.

This dress was surprised me in a wonderful way right out of the package. The fabric is a little thicker than I expected, which is wonderful for fall, and feels high quality. The top of slightly more dark gray than the black it appears to be online. If you have broad shoulders or a large chest - size up! I normally wear a 6 in dresses, but thanks to other reviews I ordered an 8 and it fits perfectly (I am a 36 C with broad shoulders, if that helps anyone). The wait does come up very high, which is fine for me, because I have a smaller torso, but I can see how that might be an issue for others. Otherwise this is a gorgeous, flattering dress! :)
This a great dress for day or night! It's a little longer than the average tunic, so I wear it as a dress with tights and boots. I've worn it both to work and out for a night on the town, so it's a great take on the LBD. The stretchy fabric is very flattering. I did have to buy the XL, which was the only size left when I bought this, and I found it fit ok, which not my usual size (I usually wear a M or L) so it runs small. Wear it with a pendant necklace to dress it up. Very comfortable!

a classic great look
I spotted this LBD hanging on display in the fitting room yesterday in the small, my usual size. I don't need another dress, but it had that classic simple look that appealed to me. It is pullover style, the top part is very stretchy & the dress is lined. Once I got it on & had the lining in place it was just perfect! At 5'3", 119#, it falls about 2" above the knee. I usually have a problem w/ dresses too long or short, but this is just right! Also, it did not feel tight or restrictive at all. Of course I'll wear w/ boots or booties & some sheer dark stockings. Can't wait to wear it!

Love love this dress...so comfy and very out of the box! Wore it to an event where there were mostly men and did not want anything too girly, it was perfect. True to size, Would purchase again, without a doubt.
I agree with the positive comments of other reviewers. This dress is soft, comfortable, and pleasantly flattering. I like the high/low hem; the "high" part is about 4 inches above my knees. The longest part is mid-calf. The hemline is pretty much as shown on the model. To state the obvious, the key is to find the right size. For reference I am just under 5'9" and 148 lbs. I usually wear a medium, but found that the small actually had a better drape to it on me. A sales associate told me that the dress did tend to run a bit big. The sleeves were a little snug when rolled up, but not when rolled down. Do check to be sure that where the buttons are on the sleeves there is also a corresponding loop. I tried on one dress where a loop was missing. Also, this may be just me, but I paid attention to the symmetry of the pattern, particularly the collar and bodice. I was not so concerned about the rest of the dress, recognizing there will always be some asymmetry and that is actually part of the charm. This is one dress that I feel is best tried on in person. I tried on several before finding "the one".

Great cozy dress!
I love this dress. I'm an employee at Anthropologie and I bought this dress the minute we got it in stock. I tried it on in a Large, which I typically wear a Large, unless something runs smaller then I will size up to an XL. I will say after finally wearing it the other day I wish I tried on the Medium. There is a lot of fabric on this dress on the bottom, and I think the Medium would've fit my upper body a little better. But oh well, I still think the large is fine, just a little extra loose. I wore it with the sleeves unrolled, and I buttoned it all the way up (except for the top button) and layered three different necklaces with it just to spice it up a bit. Also I paired with it tan colored booties and my black leather jacket. It's a great transitional piece from Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer. I feel like the material is super light weight to be able to wear in the warmer months with flats or super strappy flat sandals would be cute too. If you are thinking of getting this dress I highly recommend it. It does fit more true to size, unless you have a smaller bust then you could go one size down if you want a slightly tighter fit in the upper body area.

Truly Comfortable and Easy to Wear
I bought this dress early at full price because I'm sure it will go fast!
The fabric is very soft and it is a true navy blue on blue plaid as well as the bolder burgundy re stripes. I find the coloring very flattering on my summer skin tone. At 5' 1-1/2" and 135 lbs plus a 34DD bust, size Small does not gap in front and the front hem floats right at/below my kneecap. I considered raising the hem, but I like it as is.
With large biceps (for my frame), the sleeves are not too tight and I think I can wear this well into our California spring due to the light-weight fabric.
After discovering the dreaminess of sweater dresses a few years ago, they've become a winter staple for me, and I picked this up during the last dress sale. I was particularly excited when I read this was lined with modal (!) as I have another sweater dress that is lined, which I love. This isn't actually lined - it has a long camisole that runs the length of the dress that hangs from loops sewn into the shoulders. You could cut the loops and remove it if you wanted to. So that was a little disappointing, but I love it nonetheless. It fits me like it does the model - loose-fitting and A-line, and hits a few inches above the knee. The gauge of the knit is quite heavy. It's bulky, but not in a bad way, though bulky enough that I wouldn't (and probably couldn't) wear a cardigan over it. I kind of wish it didn't have 3/4 length sleeves as my forearms get cold when I wear it to work (I work at a desk and my arms get cold where they come into contact with my desk), but the shorter sleeves make for a nice balance with the heavy-gauge and A-line, and also provide an opportunity to wear a pretty bracelet. I've been looking for a lacy layering tee to wear underneath it as a solid tee won't do this dress justice. Runs true to size and is generously cut due to the shape. Highly recommend.

I love this dress. It looks so cute with my leggings and purple suede boots. However, I am now waiting for my third one of these to arrive. My first one started to rip out at the neck after my second wearing. I am not hard on my clothes, and I was being especially careful witih this as it looks fragile. I returned it and ordered a second. It came with the same problem at the neckline. Now I am waiting on my third one. If it weren't so stinking cute, I would just return it, but it is as as comfortable as a snuggy and a lot more fashionable. Need it to make it through the rest of the winter. It stretches out really easily and is hand wash only,

Soft, comfortable, warm and stylish...
This dress is the kind of dress I dream about wearing in winter. I am imagining a fireplace, hot chocolate and snow outside! The dress is quite heavy. The knit is thick and the slip underneath is super soft. I haven't worn the dress out yet, so, I can't speak about the durability, but it does seem like it doesn't shed much which is a huge benefit. I hate leaving a trail of fuzz. This dress is classic, feminine, pretty and warm! A great combination in winter! I'm not sold on the idea of belting it though. It has a nice shape on its own as its not straight. It is very flattering.
