Ok, so obviously it's hard not to notice the monthly car-payment-like price of this dress, however, that being said... It. Is. Worth. Every. Penny. At least when that repo-man comes, you will look GOOD. Seriously. I'm 30 years old, 5'6", 150 pounds and I purchased the size 8. Never before in my 30 years on this Earth have I owned an article of clothing that fit this well. It's absolutely perfect! The dress itself is clearly stunning. Perfect black dress. The buttons are darling and let you choose your level or riske. The skirt is the perfect sexy, modern length. I feel like I'm over-using the word 'perfect' here, but no other word in the English language would apply quite as well. If you're thinking about purchasing this dress, do it. Don't think about it any longer. It's inconceivable that you could possibly, in any way, regret that decision. Start babysitting. Own that lemonade stand. Whatever you do... Buy this dress. It's... Perfect.

Meant to Be
I was on the hunt for a LBD for a funeral and ran over to my local Anthro store. I had seen this dress online but wasn't sure about the fit or cost. After perusing the racks I noticed one of these dresses and grabbed it to try on. The dress must have been returned because all tags were missing from the inside-I have no clue what size it is but it fit like a GLOVE. The only issue was the last button hole was sewn completely shut (button couldn't pass through). The clerk gave me 30% off for the defect and I left VERY happy with my purchase. A funeral is not the type of environment where you'd usually complement clothes-but I received many compliments on this dress. I'll be wearing again over and over, and hopefully for more joyous occasions!

Chic and flattering LBD
I purchased this dress for a relative's wedding and ended up saving it for New Year's Eve. I purchased my correct size (size 8) and it fits like a glove ... a very, very sexy glove. This dress is heavy and thick which gives it a vintage feel and hides a little pouch you do not want seen. It is form fitting but remains classy and chic due to the longer length and long sleeves. It hit just below my knee and I am 5'3. This dress is flattering and worth the extra expense. The lace is fragile though - be careful wearing dangly jewelry or anything that can snag it. This is one I want to keep around for as long as possible! It is a stunner!
This dress is so cute on and very flattering. Love the neckline and the lace is a fun detail. I bought the moss and it's a beautiful, rich color. The wine looks a little more berry in person than the online pictures appear. I am usually a medium but sometimes a large in Anthro brands. I tried the small and medium in this dress. At first I thought the small looked best because the bottom part was a little less voluminous, but tried the medium because I have large shoulders and the small was a bit tight under the arms. Loved the medium. Voluminous in the lower half, but it has a nice nip in the middle that keeps it swingy instead of tent-like. I have a thinner torso and larger legs, so this line is very flattering for my legs. I also loved the length - it's longer than most dresses of this type, which I appreciated - minis are not my best look. Most flattering on small to medium breasted women. Great with tall boots, booties, leggings & flats. And it's REALLY soft - it feels like wearing a nightgown!

Wow! So warm, yet swingy, and lightweight.
I love this dress! If I didn’t know better, I’d think I’m wearing pajamas to the office. Seriously though, this is a high-quality piece. From the stitching to the design, fit and texture of the fabric, much effort went into executing this really comfortable tunic. The wine isn’t as vibrant in person as online, but it is still lovely and oh, sooooo comfortable. Did I mention comfortable? Lastly, it does run large. In tops and sweaters at Anthro, I usually wear an XL across the board (some L), but an XL in this dress would be just too much. I’m an athletic, but curvy build. I wear between a 12W and 14W with a 38D bust and the dress rocks on me in size L. As is, it is still shapely, but has a nice tunic feel. Wearing with tall black boots and wine tights. Work appropriate, but warm. Btw: If you want to utilize the pockets, use a seam ripper to open up access as they come stiched closed. Love the pockets, too! Buying the moss as soon as I can get my hands on it.

Comfy & Cute!
Awesome dress! The reviews mentioned some piling and there is a tiny tiny bit, but it adds to the vintage look. The dress is incredibly comfortable and very flattering! It hides all! I'm 5'2", 115lbs
I went to the store and tried on the dress in blue-- I saw the mauve color, but thought it may wash me out in the later winter months and I had no idea that green was an option. I was hesitant to try on the dress as it looked long (I am 5'3" and I tried it on in XXSP), but when I tried it on it looked perfect. It was stylish, but not too stylish. I could not justify spending $148.00 on the dress, so after much consideration I left without buying it.
However, this fit and style was so perfect I could not stop thinking about it. I went online and discovered the moss color and I was sold. I bought the dress immediately. The blue is gorgeous, but with my coloring I am hoping that the moss will look even better. I plan to wear this to work and to Christmas parties with suede booties.
The dress is fitted in the chest and arms area-- it is revealing in that sense. Otherwise, the waist down is very forgiving.

bought this dress in blue yesterday. I am slim and tried a large because it was the only blue on the rack. It fit perfectly. Will really enjoy this. Great background for lots of my art show jewelry. Classic look.

Great for work or play
Loooove this dress. The blue is a beautiful color, and I'm loving the fabric and fit. I got a small, and it's a great length and tightness for my 5'7", 125lbs, 32C bod. Highly recommend!
The work on this dress is out of this world. It was a conversation topic at dinner!
One of the reason I always choose this cut is because I have a very short torso. The dress comes with a black dress. I choose to not wear it.
I am in between two sizes 6-8. I have an “Athletic” shape. Tops I am an 8 and bottoms 6, so I bought both sizes, the 8 was loose and the 6 needed me to hold perfect posture. So be prepare to hold your head high! You’ll look prettier.
The dress length of course fit me longer than the model – but nothing that a pair of nude high heel doesn't fix.
The neckline will look just like in the picture... it didn't look flattering on me with the zipper all the way up. Which is just perfect paired up with tiny jewelry.
What I didn't like (and you can’t see it very good in the picture) is that the above the shoulder there is a piece of fabric – same one from the back section – that in my opinion is too wide. The sleeves on me looked very puffy– I had to “shorten” those too.
I am 5’5. 135, 34D, Short torso, Long legs, skinny shaped arms

Pretty but snug
So I have the Mona dress, by the same designer, in a 4 and it fits like a dream. I bought this in a 4 and it's not so dreamy. Just too snug in the hippage and I am pretty sure that if I sat I'd pop a seam. Not sure if I will exchange for a 6, but I thought I'd share my experience with the dress for anyone on the fence. The dress is as gorgeous in person as it is on your screen. The patchy oolors just work and are so feminine. I know one reviewer felt the brocade to be heavy, but I didn't find it to be very heavy. Would you sweat in the sun or under lights, yes, but not because the dress itself is hot. Compared to the Mona dress, which takes me about 10 good minutes to button and hook and carefully navigate the linings, this dress is a snap to get in and out of. Like the other reviewers, I would not wear the belt that comes with it (pic attached) This designer has a very good notion of proper construction and included details like the fanned slit...just a nice touch. Another reviewer mentioned the odd bit of fabric at the shoulder, which I didn't notice in the pictures but I saw in person (pic attached) . Not a sore thumb. Overall, the dress is very pretty, well made, runs a tad small, and is less fragile than some of Byron Lars other dresses (which have lots of snag ops). I recommend trying this if you're on the fence.

Best mother of the bride dress ever
It's true. This is the most beautiful and special dress ever. I can't wait to wear it to my daughter's wedding this coming September. There is nothing I don't like about this dress. I pretty much only wear dresses - ever. My favorite silhouettes are empire, A- line shift, or maxi dresses. Like another reviewer, I have a short torso, and seriously doubt if I will wear the belt -which isn't shown on the model - either, because I don't like anything around my waist. My daughter was skeptical when I showed her the photo because she knows I typically am not comfortable in fitted dresses. From the photo, my mother said it looked like a corset with an apron. I was mesmerized by the fabrics, colors, and design, however, and after reading the reviews, I ordered it. In person, the dress won us all over. It's even more beautiful and interesting than it looks. The fabrics all work even though it seems they shouldn't. It's fancy but with the sparkle in the fabric threads on the back, still fun. It doesn't look too young on me or too matronly, it's formal but still lighthearted. The fit is the best I have looked and at the same time the most comfortable I have ever been in a fitted dress. It's almost like magic how it all works. Love love love it!
Gotta say I didn't recognize this online when I went looking to write a review. I almost passed it up in the store, as well, but it was facing the dressing room, I loved the "tribal" influence, and on a whim grabbed it "just to see". Big surprise how unique and flattering this is. On me it's a dress (5'1" 115 32DD) took the PXS/S and I plan to wear it that way with tights and booties. The front hit just above my knee with a slightly longer back. The top is not as loose on me as on the model and the bottom curves in slightly keeping it from being totally straight and shapeless. Will look great with the long two toned horn earrrings I bought at Athro last summer. Can't imagine it with boyfriend jeans, although it would probably be fine with skinnies. Although I usually look best in fit and flair, as I'm petite, but hourglass, I'm thrilled with this new look for me. Plan to wear it year 'round.

Another winner by Tracy Reese!
I wasn't sure about this tunic/dress when I saw it online, but in person the shading and design is so unique and eye-catching, you find yourself picking it up! The super soft fabric blend has spandex which makes this dress feel so good on as well. Because of the reviews I originally got a small thinking that as a petite person the dress would be overwhelming. But, I found the sleeves were super tight, so I sized back to my usual medium, and the dress fits very nicely. I say dress, because at 5'3 the front is only slightly above the knees. I also have good skimming coverage over my chest and hips, unlike the smaller size which was too exact. Feels like I'm wearing a big sweatshirt, except it looks so chic! Pair with a low ankle bootie and leggings or bare legs in warmer areas.

Tried the XS/S and it fit wonderfully.
My stats: 5'6", 130lbs, athletic, 36A-29-36, big rib cage, usually a size 6.
I had previously bought and returned the 'Opening Night' dress that had the same pattern but a very high waisted and short cut. This tunic is much better.
The sleeves were quite fitted, which is the step before tight and the chest area fitted very comfortably, while the rest of the tunic was nice and roomy. I think smaller women may be sized out of this...
I tried over jeans and liked the look, would also wear with tights or leggings but too short for me to be comfortable in bare legs.
I bought three different dresses on line--and this one was on the verge of being cut, but I bought it anyway. The pictures do NOT do this pretty dress justice. Every once in a while you find something that you absolutely love--for me, this was it. Can't believe I almost passed it up! It's slightly vintage--but NOT matronly at all. It's a beautiful print, fits at the TRUE waist and is flowy--but NOT poufy, just the right length and completely flattering. It's simply a homerun. I've tried it on with boleros/ fitted short red cardi/ chunky necklaces/ boots/ red heels with black tights/ red tights with black heels. In love. If you are busty or thick armed--you may want to size up. My usual size 6 was great (I'm a 36C)--but if I was bustier, I would've had to size up.

Gorgeous design but too expensive for the quality
I LOVE this dress and couldn't wait for it to arrive from backorder. The vintage style and fit feel so ladylike. In addition, the dress is super comfortable and I couldn't stop twirling around in it. I can imagine wearing it to a wedding, brunch, or to work in my classroom. Since the fabric is stretchy, it accommodates an hourglass figure well. Despite my height and a 34DD bust, the size 8 fit me perfectly.
However, even with a promotional code, I still found the dress to be overpriced. The material has me seriously debating how well the dress will hold up over time. Aside from the gorgeous design, it just doesn't have that Anthro quality I've come to expect. If the dress were half as much, I'd have no hesitation. As it is, I'm seriously debating returning it and crossing my fingers for a sale.

Incredibly flattering and feminine vintage look
This dress is a flirty jersey that has a lot of movement. The bodice is fitted and the skirt on the full side. I can't believe how much I love it as it is so flattering.I don't like prints, I don't like florals, and I don't like tropical prints. However, I love this dress.
The skirt is cut on the bias so its full without adding bulk at the waist.
The dress on the model does not do it justice. It has a great vintage feel to it.
Bought at Kierlands Anthro so no online exclusive here.
So this dress is supposed to be all about the legs! I love it. I am normally a 2 or 4 in dresses and got the small just to gibe me the length ( I am only 5'5", but didn't want this to be super short).
The fit IS flowy with the pleats and extra fabric, so you really need to want that style. On me, I did not find it to be huge or overwhelming (and I normally do not like wearing those overly flowy full of fabric dresses-I feel hidden.) This dress actually HIGHLIGHTS what it shows without being too showy. The length on me fit above the knee, fairly close to the photo ithe picture. (((My huband LOVED the dress and said it was very flatterig.)))
The fabric is lovely and flowy, with the overlay in pleats and the underlayer.
The sleeve length adds interest and I can see pairing with a sparkley braclet. I love this with strappy sandals for fall and winter events--
Again, for me, this is all about LEGS---but without being overly exposed. LOVE IT!

Fabulous and flirty!
This arrived after a long backordered wait. I am normally an 8P but since there were no MP sizes available, I ordered a SP (according to email from Anthro, the company forgot to order the MP entirely, thus none were ever offered online). I definitely think the MP would be better for me, but the SP is doable. It is a smidge tight at the arm/shoulder seam and the sleeve cuffs, but the body of the dress is perfect. I'd say if you are ordering a regular size, you could possibly size down, but in petites, I'd stick with usual size.
This is a great swing dress and one that will be great for the holidays. After having 3 kids, my waistline isn't what it used to be, so I love dresses like this. Don't have to be self conscious about my aging figure!

I absolutely love this dress. After reading the other reviews, I decided to order and XSP. I am petite, but slightly curvy (5', 118lbs) and I normally go with a regular XS. I received this in the mail and the fit is PERFECT. With that being said, I'd definitely recommend sizing down as to not have it be "tent-like". It is just as beautiful and timeless in person as online. The fabric is great and the snaps are the perfect simple detail. Definitely a worthwhile purchase!
