Why, oh WHY did this have to arrive just in time for Christmas? LOL I saw this astonishing dress just after my Carismma Sheath dress, in black, arrived. At first I thought this version was too close, but irl, it's in a class of it's own. You can barely tell from the photo, but the fabric on the bodice and skirt are different. The top has tiny circles with dots of red. The placket is also a different pattern, but instead of the hot mess I expected, the whole thing works to make you look like the most stunning creature in the room. Very, very flattering on most body types, but I'd dare say especially on the hourglass girl. This is the dress I would wear to dinner, to weddings, to business meetings with a jacket, to tea, to lunch with the girls, where wouldn't I wear this? Fit is tts, much like the Carismma sheath. I pray that it doesn't sell out before I can get my hands on one! Or, maybe, just maybe, it will show up under the tree!

Even better than I hoped!
I visited this dress many times on the website, hoping it would go on sale, but finally decided to bit the bullet and pay full price. Prior reviews listed its unique detail and surprises that made this dress a conversation piece (and why I love Anthropologie!) and it didn't disappoint! It is form fitting and sexy in a smart-girl way, but it also possesses an artistic/couture quality that renders it timeless. I am 5'6 and a 35" bust/128 lbs and went with the 4p, as I prefer the hem to hit me at or above the knee. The fabric has stretch, which allows it to fit to your body, not bulge and buckle as a stiff fabric would do. I also cut the belt loops and moved belt/ribbon down so it would hit my waist, as the petite waist was higher- no problem at all. I am SOOO happy I splurged and know this will be a 'go to' dress for years to come.

Love this dress! Wasn't 100% sure, but loved unique features in the pic. Ordered to take advantage of my Bday discount. My fav out of all the dresses I ordered from Anthro (which was 5). Fit is spot on & I love the details. Looks better in person!!!!
I went to the store and tried on the dress in blue-- I saw the mauve color, but thought it may wash me out in the later winter months and I had no idea that green was an option. I was hesitant to try on the dress as it looked long (I am 5'3" and I tried it on in XXSP), but when I tried it on it looked perfect. It was stylish, but not too stylish. I could not justify spending $148.00 on the dress, so after much consideration I left without buying it.
However, this fit and style was so perfect I could not stop thinking about it. I went online and discovered the moss color and I was sold. I bought the dress immediately. The blue is gorgeous, but with my coloring I am hoping that the moss will look even better. I plan to wear this to work and to Christmas parties with suede booties.
The dress is fitted in the chest and arms area-- it is revealing in that sense. Otherwise, the waist down is very forgiving.

bought this dress in blue yesterday. I am slim and tried a large because it was the only blue on the rack. It fit perfectly. Will really enjoy this. Great background for lots of my art show jewelry. Classic look.

Great for work or play
Loooove this dress. The blue is a beautiful color, and I'm loving the fabric and fit. I got a small, and it's a great length and tightness for my 5'7", 125lbs, 32C bod. Highly recommend!
I like this dress quite a bit, but it is not exactly what I expected. The waist is about 2-3 inches above my natural waist, which adds some bulk, and makes for an odd silhouette at some angles. This is maybe just because I am taller than average, but it was still a bit disappointing (now that I am used to it, though, I like it a lot more -- just be aware of this difference!). That said, almost everything else about this dress is great. The fabric is soft and good quality, the print is interesting and unique. It is very comfortable -- if you are between sizes, I would recommend ordering the smaller size, it will not feel restricting. I first ordered a size 2, which draped very awkwardly, but the size 0 is perfect -- the contrast of the fitted top with the volume of the skirt is great. The dress is a bit higher on me than on the model - about 3 or 4 inches above the knee.
I would absolutely recommend this dress, just be aware that the fit is a bit different than what is pictured.

I ordered both this dress and the Larksong Dress hoping one of me would fit. Both dresses fit, but this dress own hands down. The cut is perfect - very feminine and with beautiful lines that flatters my hourglass figure. I too one size up than I normally take, but I find Tracy Reese a little on the small side, so I think this is more tts for this brand. The colors are amazingly vivid and the material is beautiful. I originally thought it was a knit, but I was delighted to discover than it's a very light woven material that drapes very nicely. I bought the regular instead of the petite - in retrospect, I think the petite would have worked better for my height but I was worried that the petite would be too high waisted for me. The regular is a little too long, so I will have to shorten this. I am debating about having the crinoline removed. Although it adds to the princess effect, I think it's a bit too much for my size...this is a beautiful dress that I can see wearing to many occasions....very happy!

I absolutely adore this dress! 99% of my closet is black so this was drastically different from my normal comfort zone. I tried it on in store on a whim and fell head over heels in love! The fit on this is flawless and it is made immaculately. Every time I've worn it I've gotten a ton of compliments! I'm 5'10" 160lbs and my normal size 10 fit better than any dress I've bought in the past year!!!
It's great for dressing up or down and can be worn for almost any occasion! I absolutely give this 5 stars!
I actually sought this dress out after reading some of the reviews online. After reading that it ran large I wanted to try it on in store. The first store I went to had only 1 dress left in the whole store and it was a medium but overall I really liked and so I went to the next store that had only 2 dresses left and they just happened to be small and extra small which were the two sizes I was looking to try on. I ended up going with the small because the sleeves on the extra small were to tight on me to be comfortable. I am extremely happy with my purchase comfy and gorgeous and I myself didn't find it to short unlike some of the other reviews I read

I didn't think much of this dress until I tried it on -- I fits well and feels as though you are wearing a sweatshirt. Great winter dress!

tts and lovely
this dress is so beautiful and feminine! i bought the medium and it fits perfectly. i and 36 D and 29 in waist. the length was great. it is figure flattering for someone with a little more curves.
it flares out a little more than in the pic and the sleeves are pretty long. i just rolled mine up.
there were no issue in the navy slip underneath for me. i like that hangs under quite a bit to really finish off the feminine style of the dress.
the material it decently heavy and thick...so it really DOES make a wonderful wintry dress.
overall, great dress, great fit, great quality. no issues for me.
I agree with the positive comments of other reviewers. This dress is soft, comfortable, and pleasantly flattering. I like the high/low hem; the "high" part is about 4 inches above my knees. The longest part is mid-calf. The hemline is pretty much as shown on the model. To state the obvious, the key is to find the right size. For reference I am just under 5'9" and 148 lbs. I usually wear a medium, but found that the small actually had a better drape to it on me. A sales associate told me that the dress did tend to run a bit big. The sleeves were a little snug when rolled up, but not when rolled down. Do check to be sure that where the buttons are on the sleeves there is also a corresponding loop. I tried on one dress where a loop was missing. Also, this may be just me, but I paid attention to the symmetry of the pattern, particularly the collar and bodice. I was not so concerned about the rest of the dress, recognizing there will always be some asymmetry and that is actually part of the charm. This is one dress that I feel is best tried on in person. I tried on several before finding "the one".

Great cozy dress!
I love this dress. I'm an employee at Anthropologie and I bought this dress the minute we got it in stock. I tried it on in a Large, which I typically wear a Large, unless something runs smaller then I will size up to an XL. I will say after finally wearing it the other day I wish I tried on the Medium. There is a lot of fabric on this dress on the bottom, and I think the Medium would've fit my upper body a little better. But oh well, I still think the large is fine, just a little extra loose. I wore it with the sleeves unrolled, and I buttoned it all the way up (except for the top button) and layered three different necklaces with it just to spice it up a bit. Also I paired with it tan colored booties and my black leather jacket. It's a great transitional piece from Fall/Winter to Spring/Summer. I feel like the material is super light weight to be able to wear in the warmer months with flats or super strappy flat sandals would be cute too. If you are thinking of getting this dress I highly recommend it. It does fit more true to size, unless you have a smaller bust then you could go one size down if you want a slightly tighter fit in the upper body area.

Stylish! Comfortable! What is NOT to love!
I saw this on Anthro's instagram and RAN to my local store & fell in love.
It runs true to size, tho it is a very loose fit, so you might ( depending on the bust area) be able to go down a size - I am typically a Large in Anthro ( 5'9 height, 36C chest) and it fit flawlessly.
This is going to be a great winter piece to layer with a sweater and some tights - in the spring it will go great with a leather jacket and some ankle booties.
Another Amazing Anthro Addition!
After discovering the dreaminess of sweater dresses a few years ago, they've become a winter staple for me, and I picked this up during the last dress sale. I was particularly excited when I read this was lined with modal (!) as I have another sweater dress that is lined, which I love. This isn't actually lined - it has a long camisole that runs the length of the dress that hangs from loops sewn into the shoulders. You could cut the loops and remove it if you wanted to. So that was a little disappointing, but I love it nonetheless. It fits me like it does the model - loose-fitting and A-line, and hits a few inches above the knee. The gauge of the knit is quite heavy. It's bulky, but not in a bad way, though bulky enough that I wouldn't (and probably couldn't) wear a cardigan over it. I kind of wish it didn't have 3/4 length sleeves as my forearms get cold when I wear it to work (I work at a desk and my arms get cold where they come into contact with my desk), but the shorter sleeves make for a nice balance with the heavy-gauge and A-line, and also provide an opportunity to wear a pretty bracelet. I've been looking for a lacy layering tee to wear underneath it as a solid tee won't do this dress justice. Runs true to size and is generously cut due to the shape. Highly recommend.

Soft, comfortable, warm and stylish...
This dress is the kind of dress I dream about wearing in winter. I am imagining a fireplace, hot chocolate and snow outside! The dress is quite heavy. The knit is thick and the slip underneath is super soft. I haven't worn the dress out yet, so, I can't speak about the durability, but it does seem like it doesn't shed much which is a huge benefit. I hate leaving a trail of fuzz. This dress is classic, feminine, pretty and warm! A great combination in winter! I'm not sold on the idea of belting it though. It has a nice shape on its own as its not straight. It is very flattering.

Perfect for Super Petites
I thought I was going to return this dress because it might be still long at petite length. I am 5ft, 114 lbs. I ordered XSP and the length is about 2 inches above the knee. Perfect to wear with any of my boots. I am an hourglass shape and the dress does not make me look dowdy.
The sweater is warm. I like that it has a cotton tank top lining that is removable. I wore this alone when it was in the mid-50s outside. Very comfortable! Not sure what outerwear I would wear because the dress is bulky.
Gotta say I didn't recognize this online when I went looking to write a review. I almost passed it up in the store, as well, but it was facing the dressing room, I loved the "tribal" influence, and on a whim grabbed it "just to see". Big surprise how unique and flattering this is. On me it's a dress (5'1" 115 32DD) took the PXS/S and I plan to wear it that way with tights and booties. The front hit just above my knee with a slightly longer back. The top is not as loose on me as on the model and the bottom curves in slightly keeping it from being totally straight and shapeless. Will look great with the long two toned horn earrrings I bought at Athro last summer. Can't imagine it with boyfriend jeans, although it would probably be fine with skinnies. Although I usually look best in fit and flair, as I'm petite, but hourglass, I'm thrilled with this new look for me. Plan to wear it year 'round.

Another winner by Tracy Reese!
I wasn't sure about this tunic/dress when I saw it online, but in person the shading and design is so unique and eye-catching, you find yourself picking it up! The super soft fabric blend has spandex which makes this dress feel so good on as well. Because of the reviews I originally got a small thinking that as a petite person the dress would be overwhelming. But, I found the sleeves were super tight, so I sized back to my usual medium, and the dress fits very nicely. I say dress, because at 5'3 the front is only slightly above the knees. I also have good skimming coverage over my chest and hips, unlike the smaller size which was too exact. Feels like I'm wearing a big sweatshirt, except it looks so chic! Pair with a low ankle bootie and leggings or bare legs in warmer areas.

Tried the XS/S and it fit wonderfully.
My stats: 5'6", 130lbs, athletic, 36A-29-36, big rib cage, usually a size 6.
I had previously bought and returned the 'Opening Night' dress that had the same pattern but a very high waisted and short cut. This tunic is much better.
The sleeves were quite fitted, which is the step before tight and the chest area fitted very comfortably, while the rest of the tunic was nice and roomy. I think smaller women may be sized out of this...
I tried over jeans and liked the look, would also wear with tights or leggings but too short for me to be comfortable in bare legs.
