Yes they are a little pricey, but i plan on keeping them for a LONG time..and the quality is high enough that it should be no problem to keep them for years. My dad is an avid boot collector, spending a lot on handmade boots. When I wore them to my parents house he held up my foot, inspected them and said, "those are nice"...so I knew I had a winner. Large calves beware...I have very slim calves and usually boots look awkward on me, but these fit perfectly, like a glove. Also, I have a very narrow foot so I was able to get away with my normal size. However, if you have a normal or slightly wide foot, you will probably have to size up. They are true to the picture in color and style. Well worth the money. Very nice and a great must-have for the closet.

These boots are as beautiful as pictured. They do run about a half size small. They are fairly comfortable - not the most comfortable shoes out there, but for the sale price, they are totally worth it.
Also, you can fold them on top to reveal a leather lining! I was curious about that when I received the boots but found that information on H by Hudson website.
And yes, they are perfect for ladies with narrow calves, mine is only 12" and once folded, they are a perfect fit.

These boots are gorgeous. Certainly very pricey but I have a weakness for ties in the back of boots and so had to get them.
The suede is a pleasing taupe and the leather a rich dark brown exactly as shown. The ties in the back make this boot very special. The look very sweet and feminine and unexpected given the equestrian styling of the front of the boot.
It does run small. I wear a 7 and had to size up to a 38. The shaft is narrow and worked fine for me as I have skinny calves. If you have bigger calves the ties in the back will have a big gap between the two sides of the boot. The two sides just barely approximated for me with skinny calves.
That having been said it was bigger in the ankle than other boots I have that are as narrow. I had to wear thick boot socks scrunched down to support the ankle of the boot so it wouldn't collapse and look sloppy. Once I did that how ever the boot had very clean nice lines.
I wore it with skinny jeans tucked In and it looked adorable and very feminine.
