I'd never seen the Staub in white before, and I fell in love as soon as I saw the photo. To answer the other poster, I believe the larger pot is the 5 quart oval cocotte. Anthropologie's customer service told me that it holds 4.5 quarts, but I can definitely hold another cup or two in the one I received. The stamp on the lid says 31, which I think corresponds to other 5 quart ovals that are 31 cm. Others may be able to clarify -- this is my first Staub, so I have nothing to compare it with. Only time will tell, of course, if I'll be able to keep the white finish looking good, so I can't comment on the practicality of the color. Now if I could just find a couple more of the minis in white, I'd be set (all the other ones I see online are ceramic). Anthropologie: can you hook a girl up with a couple of extra white minis?

Love them! The "wine" color is more red than it looks online. It's a rich rasperry color and has much more depth than the picture shows. I was a little disappointed at the small ones, however. I was hoping that they would be large enough to make french onion soup in, but they are more dessert-sized. They do cook beautifully (even heat and no scorching) and although the knobs are metal, they do not get as hot as I had anticipated. I definitely plan on getting more!

This will quickly become my preferred vessel for browning, on the stovetop, and then slow roasting to perfection, in the oven. The quality is exceptional, everything seems sturdy and durable to last through, well, a lifetime of cooking. The color is even more beautiful in person. And while the two smaller pieces that come with this are almost too small to be practical who can pass them up.
