Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE this sweater...once I figured it out. I saw this sweater at my local Anthro and literally got out of line so I could try it on. The pattern is gorgeous, the color combo is unexpected and the sweater is super soft. When I got it on, I was...confused. It's not what I expected and frankly, even the sales associates weren't entirely sure how to wear it to make it look normal. A little fiddling around though, and I was smitten. The trick for me was to unbutton two of the buttons on each side to make the back longer. That way it's more of a Dolman/bat wing cardigan and less of a shrug (which looked funny on my petite frame). I decided I couldn't live without it. I paired it with a fitted Madewell shirt in a neutral "greige" color, with a navy cami peeking out underneath to tie it all in, and skinny jeans with boots. I'm wearing it today and already got a bunch of compliments before 9am :) My only suggestion for making this sweater more "wearable" is to change the way it buttons. If the buttons were on opposite edges, it could be worn as a poncho or even a vest. November 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by This actually works When I held this sweater up to inspect it, I thought "No way-- buttoned on the sleeves??" determined to try it on and enjoy the comedy. But it turns out that this slouchy shrug, with buttoned bell-shaped sleeves, is quite loveable. The broad checkered print adds stability, while bold pink/red triangles add pops of color. It runs loose and large, so you may wish to size it down-- I found that the small stayed put more easily than the medium-- for reference, I am 5'8", 135 lbs, 34-B. The feel of the yarn is quite soft, probably because it's made of 56% nylon, 41% acrylic. The one weakness is that it looks like there are cat-hairs hanging about, due to the 3% angora content. The tag says dry-clean only, but I imagine that gentle-wash/ drying flat would be sufficiant. If you like bold (and you already have a cat), this could be a fun, unique sweater to add to your wardrobe. December 20, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Must have I had a client who came into my office wearing this sweater. I had to ask where she purchased it. When she said Anthro, I knew it was good quality. I bought the sweater the next day and I LOVE IT!!. November 22, 2012
