Rated 5 out of 5 by rumia excellent alternative to AG
I have been a devoted AG jeans for a long time. Of late I have tried Pilcro Stet and these Holding Horses jeans. As noted by the previous review.. these are real excellent quality, thick-ish denim jeans. Not the stretchy spandex kind that rip at the butt or inner thigh within 6months. I loved them the moment I tried them on and had forgotten how flattering real denim can be. No lumps or bumps. The waist sits slightly higher and the leg tappers to a skinny ankle fit. I usually take a 26/27 in AG/Pilcro (sizing up for legging/super skinny styles) and bought a 26 in these HH jeans. The also don't loose their shape after multiple wears... I've had these for 4 months and they are my go to pair. Try them!

These jeans wouldn't have gotten a 2nd glance from me online, but I saw them in the store and gave them a go. I am wearing mostly 27's but fit 26's in these for some reason. I am a post-baby mom with a little bit more muffin top than I would like. these were high enough in the waist to help with that. The skinny fit is much the same as any other skinny, and at 5'3" I was relieved that they needed no hemming. The backside view is good too, the embroidery isn't my all time fave, but i pretty much dislike all jeans' pocket stitching. They feel like actual, substantial jeans and hold me in every where that I would want them to. Give 'em a shot... they're far, far better in person and on a "real" body.

I usually wear a 26 in most jeans, but I needed a 27 in these, probably because these are the Real McCoy when i comes to denim-not the 'denim' jeans with spandex (citizens of humanity, mother) that are geared towards stretch/comfort. They still give and feel great though. [Sidenote:I noticed on the rack that there were many many lower sizes left, and most of the other sizes (27 upwards) were gone (and there weren't many in the dressing room).]
I was drawn to the wash and fit because it reminds me of the 90's Diesel/Levi's, and it hit just above my low hip (not too low). However, I am deliberating since I prefer a cropped style when it comes to straight jeans, and these are longer and taper off; I am wary of the 'mom' style jeans. But they also look great rolled up. Otherwise, great fit everywhere (the inseam did not hit unflatteringly high up near my behind- which is super), and the stiching is a nice touch.
