I don't like this dress, I love this dress. It fits me to a T showing all the good and none of the bad. I took a size 2. I can easily transition this dress to fall with tights, boots and a shawl or sweater. The only reason I did not give this dress 5 stars is because it does wrinkle. But I am willing to overlook that for the fit. Below are my measurements. If you are busty on top or have broad shoulders it might not work for you, but it is worth a try at the least.
Height - 5'4 (hits just above the knee)
Bust - 34A
Waste - 27

The look of this dress is, for sure, interesting. I love the cut of the dress; I feel like a lot of these empire-style dresses make a girl look pregnant, but this one fell nicely.
I ordered an 8, after seeing that some of the reviews suggested the top part of the dress is tight-fitting. I'm 5'1, 140 lbs., 34B, and the 8 fit well. I should also note I have athletic shoulders, so they are a bit tight, but nothing I can't live with.
The dress did come wrinkled, and the skirt of the dress seems to wrinkle easy, hence my scoring this dress slightly lower. However, the stitching on top really is cool.

The dress is well-made and the size large looked nice on me (5'6'', ~170 lbs, typically a size 10). I generally have difficulty with blazers and tailored shirts because my arms and chest are large. It was a bit tight in the arms, but it worked. The bottom half is a little transparent, but as long as you're not wearing hot pink underwear or something its definitely manageable. I wore this when my husband and I had our marriage blessed in our family church (with black tights and pumps), but I am looking forward to pairing it with a blazer and wearing it to work as well.
