Rated 5 out of 5 by good find I think this a versatile good find. The corduroy is great for this time of year. The color is stunning; it's somehow bright and yet muted allowing for lots of creativity in accessorizing. So far I have only worn it to work with a cardigan and the straps on, so I can't judge how well the top stays in place without the straps. However, I have tried it in the house strapless and it now only feels secure, but my husband likes the look of the dress better (big surprise). November 20, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best color. Ever. I was excited to see this dress when I walked into my local Anthro store, because I love the color. I have another dress in the same color, one I've worn for several years now and gotten a lot of use from. Screaming purple goes great with many other colors -- colors you would never expect! -- and I find my own screaming purple dress to be one of the most versatile in my closet. But it's a sheath dress and the silhouette isn't appropriate for every occasion. A girl should have an offensively purple frock for every occasion. I tried this one on with great excitement, and while I loved many of its details -- a high enough neckline to cover my heavy-duty strapless bra (a must for the busty), the ruching, and the ultra-comfortable stretch through the ribcage -- it was not, sadly, for me. The waist is just a tad high, and it makes my hips look just a little too full. I may inspect it again and see whether my tailor might be able to drop that waist down just enough to flatter me. I would LOVE to own this dress...a swingy skirt would complete my eye-searing purple ensemble and allow me to wear the color only the fearless can wear any time, any place. If you can wear high-waisted dresses, do not miss this one! And don't be afraid of the color. It's flattering and bold without having to rely on prints or weird design to make a statement. I like to wear it with all shades of yellow, from deep gold to lemon, as well as with sage, pea, and shamrock greens, cobalt blues, and steely greys. It's truly a color that can stay in your closet year-round. Well done, Anthropologie! More of this! For reader reference, I am 5'11" with measurements of 38-30-40. I tried on a size 12, but with the considerable stretch a smaller size would probably have worked equally well. August 29, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Beautiful color, but... The color of this is absolutely STUNNING and very flattering. However the fit is off. I am a 5'8 slim hourglass with a narrow back and proportionately large bust which makes finding dresses hard. It was not flattering to my chest and was far too short-waisted and made me look chunky in the midsection. A pity. Also the quality is not so great. The seams are of a flimsy type. October 15, 2012

Size Guide

How to Measure

Bust

Measure under your arms at the fuller part of your bust. Keep tape level across your shoulder blades.

Natural Waist

Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape comfortably loose.

Drop Waist

Measure around your body 1 1/2" below your natural waist.

Hips

Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips.

Inseam

Using a pair of your pants that fit well, measure from crotch seam to bottom of leg.

Rings

Wrap a length of string around your finger and mark where the end touches. Measure the distance between the end of the string and the mark you've made to determine what size to order.
