Rated 5 out of 5 by rumia not a waist skirt
this skirt looks best if worn lower on the hips and not at the waist. This essentially removes the problems with bulges at the waist (as seen in the first model pic). The fabric is fairly heavy even though its mostly cotton and is not itchy at all against bare skin. I really loved the way it looked on me. I took the xs (my usual size, 115lbs 5'4") as it's stretchy and the small looked too heavy and big. One warning: the elastic snapped in the waist of the one I was trying on in store. Now Im really careful when pulling on/pulling off the one I bought.
Despite that, I really love this skirt and got the black as well! A great winter staple at an even greater price

This is a sweater skirt--stretchy and elasticized, but way too unstructured for me. Look closely at the model wearing it--see how her hips bulge a bit from either the skirt or the shirt tucked into it? Imagine that magnified to a size 6 or 8 (my size, not a good effect). I was hoping this would look nice beneath a more fitted, hip length sweater--but it just adds bulk in all the wrong places.

I have so many black skirts as basics, and I like this one for the fresh twist of the texture and cut. Normally, I do not like frilly skirts, but the weave, as one reviewer noted, is heavy enough that there is a nice wave to the skirt without that feeling of "twee". I actually sized one up just to avoid the pulling at the hips, and it looks nice.
