I agree with the other reviewers who said the top lays in a funny way, and this dress would have been so much better if the bottom were more fitted. The bottom has a lot of material, and is very loose and flowing, so it doesn't contrast with the layers at the top enough, in my opinion. It does nothing for the figure...
That said, on the right person, this will be a totally cute, and different dress. It is very comfortable and is a unique design. You'll have to try it on for yourself... Fits TTS.

This dress feels right for battling summertime heat in style - It will be perfectly airy on those muggy days when you want your outfit to flow away from the body, yet the crop layer still highlights a waistline! It's running true to size through the body, with a slight tenancy to run a tad small in the top – if you are average build or smaller bust stick with your usual size (despite feeling inclined to size down to accommodate overall volume). For those ladies with bigger busts or athletic shoulders, I would recommend going up one size potentially for comfort.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by TomsMom bummer that the sleeves are cut wrong for me
I love every single thing about this dress except the cut of the sleeves -- what a bummer. The way they are cut in means that that bad looking lump of flesh (I don't know what else to call it, sorry) between my shoulder and the sleeve shows in a way that isn't attractive at all. Besides which, that cut necessitates some kind of funky bra. If this dress were just cut a tiny bit different it would be such a winner. Something so that there's a little more coverage between shoulder and strap, so that a normal bra is possible. The black skirt part is stunning, the fabric is perfect, it's super comfortable, dresses up or down, and in every single other way is so sweet. Now, having said all of that, if you are younger and can go braless, this dress would look terrific and you wouldn't have to fool around with a strapless bra or some other equally uncomfortable rigging. I'm petite (5'2"), 36B, and slim. The small fit well.
